Last week at San Diego Comic Con 2026, there was the Star Trek: The Collector Frontier panel and designers from Magic The Gathering and LEGO were on hand to show off their newest products. MTG was there to show off the new Star Trek set with the surprise being the signed Headliner card of Patrick Stewart as Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
For the LEGO side of the panel, Henrik Andersen, Cryystal Fontan, and Dario Garcia-Alonso were on hand to talk about the LEGO Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Bridge (11385) that will be releasing in September.
We got some in-depth look at some of the design process of the set including new parts that were made for one. Some of the examples were for the phaser and Spock’s Vulcan hair/ear piece.
Crystal also talked about the color palattes used for the LEGO minifigure designs for each of the characters in the set.
In addition, the panel also discussed some of the many Easter eggs that were in the set. Unless you’re a hardcore Trekkie, some of the objects may seem obscure. Some of these items include the Vulcan Lipra, trident scanner, the Vulcan lute, Nurse Chapel’s Plomeek soup, and the dilithium crystal converter assembly.
At the end of the panel, there was a trivia with the whole room and the winner got a signed copy of the LEGO Icons Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D (10356). Props to the kid that had to lug that set around the whole convention.
The Star Trek: The Collector Frontier panel overall was a good one and it was cool to see some of the inner workings of the LEGO Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Bridge (11385) that was revealed a few days earlier. I’m actually surprised to see that a majority of the room didn’t know about the set before the panel but they have more fans now and there could be a few more sales of the set coming directly from the panel.
