LEGO BIONICLE Official Website Updated

LEGO BIONICLE

The official LEGO BIONICLE website has been updated with images of some of the characters as well as a short bio for them. Word coming out of New York Comic Con 2014 is that LEGO BIONICLE will be a reboot and there will be short 90 second online movies later on.

GALI – Master of Water

Gali is friendly and peaceful. But when the situation calls for it, she can be as fierce as a raging ocean. She finds injustice intolerable and always goes out of her way to help the ones who need it. Gali’s mellow ways have made her the most liked among the heroes. She is generous, a good listener and friend. Only one little thing: she just can’t seem to tell a joke right! Powers: Water control and the ability to out-swim any known creature.

KOPAKA – Master of Ice

Kopaka is noble and reserved. Upholding his own strict moral code he strives to be perfect and always “do the right thing”. A fact that often makes him appear formal and even cold in the eyes of others. Luckily Kopaka’s clumsiness and his not too solid direction sense help the other heroes remember that, after all, Kopaka is just a Toa like them. Power: Freezing touch and resistance to cold.

LEGO BIONICLE Exclusive Tahu Mask from New York Comic Con 2014

Our first LEGO details coming out of New York Comic Con 2014 is the exclusive that they are giving out to attendees. Of course, the event is mainly to reveal more of LEGO BIONICLE and attendees are getting an Exclusive Tahu Mask. As you can see above, it’s a clear mask that is in the same clamshell packaging we’ve seen from SDCC minifigures. Stay tuned for more details of the LEGO BIONICLE reveal throughout the day. Photo courtesy of Bill Murphy.

Update: There’s now a clearer picture of the transparent Tahu Mask. LEGO is giving you a chance to win one on Twitter. I was told that this version are for the first 200 attendees who lined up at the LEGO booth when the floor opened.

LEGO BIONICLE Mask of Creation Concept Images

LEGO BIONICLE - Mask of Creation

Earlier this week, LEGO announced that they were revealing something today for the returning LEGO BIONICLE theme. We took a guess and said that it could be the official site, BIONICLE.com, would go live. That didn’t happen.

On their Facebook Page, LEGO have revealed images of how they constructed the Mask of Creation. These images include renderings of the concept art to conputer-aided designs of the Mask.

I’m not familiar with BIONICLE but doing some research, the Mask of Creation belongs to Artakha and is one of the most powerful Kanohi in existence.

So there you have it for LEGO’s “reveal.” It was just a short story in picture form of how the Mast of Creation came into being. Stay tuned for more details of LEGO BIONICLE when New York Comic Con rolls by in a couple of weeks.

LEGO BIONICLE Revealing Something This Friday

LEGO BIOINICLE

LEGO BIONICLE officially made its return last Friday and there were mixed feeling about it in the community. Today, there was an announcement made on the LEGO BIONOCLE Facebook Page saying something will be revealed this Friday. There’s no clues this time of what LEGO will be revealing but my guess is that the official site, BIONICLE.com, which currently is redirecting to LEGO’s main site, will go live. What do you think LEGO will be revealing? Stay tuned this Friday to see what LEGO has in store for BIONICLE.

LEGO BIONICLE is Returning in 2015

LEGO BIOINICLE

LEGO has finally revealed what their big announcement was and it is indeed LEGO BIONICLE will be back in 2015. They’ve posted a video of the Mask of Creation which we already reported on last week so it wasn’t really a big secret considering LEGO accidentally spoiled it earlier this week.

LEGO BIONICLE makes their triumphant return after it was originally discountinued back in 2010 and being replaced by LEGO Hero Factory. BIONICLE was a very popular theme and was one of the themes that brought LEGO back from near bankruptcy (Brick by Brick: How LEGO Rewrote the Rules of Innovation and Conquered the Global Toy Industry).

There’s no doubt that many fans are happy are that this theme is returning next year. BZPower is also reporting that LEGO will be revealing the information about the sets at New York Comic Con on October 9th as well as on social media so stay tuned for that. We already know the set names so they’ll probably reveal some of them at NYCC.

LEGO Announcement Accidentally Revealed? – (Spoilers)

Earlier this morning, we reported that LEGO will be making an announcement to “reveal something very exciting.” It looks like LEGO has accidentally spilled the beans on what this announcement could be.

Over on LEGO’s Google+ post of the same image, you can see the details of the photo and the file name says “Bionicle-4-new.jpg20140915-4177-5fuc51.jpg.” This pretty much almost confirms that they will be announcing the return of LEGO BIONICLE in 2015 and shoots down my guess that it could be the LEGO Ideas results. For many of us in the LEGO community, we already knew about the return of LEGO BIONICLE next year but for the general public who aren’t in the know, this is news to them.

We’ll keep you updated but it kinda lessens the excitement just a tad bit.
