LEGO Ideas Magical Builds of the Wizarding World Building Contest

LEGO Ideas Harry Potter Fantastic Beasts Contest

LEGO Ideas has a cool new building contest called Magical Builds of the Wizarding World which has some great prizes up for grabs. All you have to do is to build something in one of these categories:

1. Creatures from the Wizarding World (Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts)
2. Hogwarts items and icons

Since there are tons of things to choose from the Wizarding World Universe, there’s almost an unlimited amount of things that you can create.

As I mentioned before, LEGO will be giving out some great prizes for the winners and they include:

LEGO Ideas Celebrates 10 Years

LEGO Ideas 10 Years

Today LEGO celebrates an amazing ten years of LEGO Ideas as a crowdsourcing platform for fans. It all started back in 2008 as LEGO CUUSOO during the beta phase and it eventually changed to LEGO Ideas which we now have today. The first set made for CUUSOO was the Shinkai 6500 Submarine (21100) and the first one under the LEGO Ideas name was the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108). There now has been 23 sets that have been officially released so far and it doesn’t look like it will be stopping any time soon. Which LEGO Ideas set is your favorite?

LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315) Modifications

The LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315) is now available and if you’ve followed the project on Ideas, you’ll notice that LEGO made some minor changes to it. Jason Allemann has uploaded a new video showing some modifications he has made to the official set to his liking.

One of the big changes was that LEGO omitted the clasp on the set which I mentioned in my review. In the video, he has shown us know how to make a small change to the set to add the clasp. What’s cool is that you don’t even need your own parts to make because it uses existing parts from the set itself. Jason also shows us how to make a clip clasp but that will require some extra parts.

LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315) Now Available on Shop@Home

The new LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315) is now available for purchase on LEGO Shop@Home. The set has 859 pieces and retails for $69.99 and it features two classic fairy tales, Little Red Riding Hood and Jack and the Beanstalk. I’ve already done a review of the set and you can check it out here.

LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315)

LEGO has released the designer video for the upcoming LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315). LEGO Designer Wes Talbott and Graphic Designer Crystal Marie Fontan talk about some of the details and processes that went into the Pop-Up Book. One interesting thing that Wes mentioned was that there was little change from the original fan project to the finished product.

The LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book will officially be available starting on November 1, but if you didn’t see my post from earlier this week, there will be a signing event this Saturday at the Washington Square Shopping Center in Tigard, Oregon.

LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315) Signing Event

LEGO will be holding a signing event for the upcoming release of the LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315) this Saturday. On October 27 from 11am-3pm at the LEGO Brand Store at the Washington Square Shopping Center in Tigard, Oregon. This event allows you to meet both the fan designers of the set, Grant Davis and Jason Allemann, as well as purchasing the set a few days before the official release date on November 1.

LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315)

Earlier today, LEGO announced the new LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315) and this set was the brainchild of Jason Allemann and Grant Davis. Containing 859 pieces while retailing for $69.99, the book features two well-known short stories with the Little Red Riding Hood, and Jack and the Beanstalk.
