LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles Premieres Tonight

LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles

The time is here! The LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles animated show is set to premiere tonight with a special event on Cartoon Network at 8/7c. From the trailer below, JEK-14 will be “the newest villain in the LEGO Star Wars saga.” LEGO has been increasing the promotion of the animated show the past few weeks with the promo set as well as the life-sized X-wing Starfighter. Like with other LEGO shows, you’ll have action as well as some humor thrown in for some of the characters. How excited are you in The Yoda Chronicles and seeing how bad JEK-14 will turn out?

LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles Promotional Set

Game Informer has recently received a promotional LEGO Star Wars set to promote The Yoda Chronicles animated series that will be premiering on Cartoon Network on Wednesday, May 29th. There is also a “huge” LEGO Star Wars event on Thursday, May 23rd at 11am in New York’s Times Square. LEGO will be unveiling the “world’s largest LEGO model.” We’re curious to see what this model could be, maybe a giant Yoda?

The promotional set contains 408 pieces that are in three numbered bags. There are two minifigures included in the set: Yoda and a female Padawan. There is also a droid. The set itself appears to be the archives of the Jedi Temple. Check out YourCreativeFriends review of the set below.

LEGO Star Wars The Yoda Chronicles The Rancor Pit Part 2

The LEGO Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles continues with part two of the second episode, The Rancor Pit. If you remember in part one Leia has fallen into the pit and is barely holding on. She is swinging back and forth while the Rancor tries to eat her. The Rancor finally grabs a hold of her and Luke sees that she’s in trouble. He builds a flight of stairs and sticks a bone in the beast and swings away with Leia. Then he tries to close the gate but the buttons don’t work and he force closes the gate on top of the Rancor. Luke and Leia run free temporarily but is captured. In the ending scene, they are whisked away on the Sail Barge and the Desert Skiff. I’m not sure if the story continues next week or if it was like the Umbara storyline where it just ends abruptly. Stay tuned next week to see what LEGO has in store for The Yoda Chronicles.

LEGO Star Wars The Yoda Chronicles The Rancor Pit Episode 1

Apparently, The Yoda Chronicles isn’t a continuing storyline but a series of short stories split into a few episodes. The Umbara story seemingly has finished up last week, and this week we start the Rancor Pit story.

In the beginning, you can see Luke’s X-wing in front of Jabba’s Palace. Inside, Luke is trying to rescue Han Solo, who is still in carbonite, from Jabba the Hutt. Jabba springs the trap and Luke as well as the Gamorrean guard fall into the Rancor pit. They hear a loud roar coming from the direction of the gate and see Malakili coming out with a drumstick. He lures the Rancor to Luke and the Gamorrean. Luke force builds a trap door to hide from the Rancor. The beast grabs the Gamorrean and is about it eat him. C-3P0 panics and accidentally knocks slave Princess Leia into the pit too but she is still hanging on the chain. The Rancor roars at her and the story will continue next week.

One thing I noticed is the design of the Slave Leia minifigure. As you can see below, she has an updated bikini that is colored green. Her skirt also seem to have a bit more detail as well. The hair piece also is different from the Leia in the 2006 version of Jabba’s Sail Barge (6210). You can see the previous version of Leia here. Could the Leia we saw in the video be the redesigned version in the new Jabba’s Sail Barge (75020)?

LEGO The Yoda Chronicles Continues

The Yoda Chronicles continues the episode where they left off a couple of weeks ago. It shows that the Umbaran MHC is getting closer to the Jedi while they’re holding off the Droid Army. At the end, Yoda places a 1×1 stud in the middle of the road the the MHC trips over it and a mysterious figure falls out of it. Who can this person be?

Honestly, so far this series is off to be a little disappointing. These one minute short skits don’t really say anything but just advertising products from the Star Wars line. Hopefully, it picks up in the next couple of episodes. Stay tuned for the next episode of The Yoda Chronicles.
