LEGO Star Wars Rebel A-Wing Pilot (5004408) Available at LEGOLAND California as Star Wars Days Promo

LEGO Star Wars Rebel A-Wing Pilot

A couple of weeks back, it was revealed that there was a new LEGO Star Wars Rebel A-Wing Pilot (5004408) minifigure polybag. There was no details on how to obtain it until today. My friend John was at LEGOLAND California today for Star Wars Days and one of the promotions in the shop was a free gift with purchase of $30 or more on any LEGO products which was the Rebel A-Wing Pilot.

As of this point, this weekend is the only way to obtain the minifigure that I know of so if you know any people who live close by to LEGOLAND California, you may want to ask them to pick it up for you. I’ll let you guys know if this polybag will be available anywhere else.

LEGO Creator London Bus (40220) Polybag Revealed

LEGO Creator London Bus (40220)

Earlier today, Brickset uploaded an image of a new LEGO Creator London Bus (40220) polybag which features a double decker bus. There’s no word on how to obtain the polybag at this point as there is nothing listed on the LEGO Store calendar for July. We’ll have to wait and see if it is part of an August promo or not since the it goes great with the upcoming LEGO Creator Big Ben (10253) which will be releasing mid-June for VIPs and to the general public on July 1.

We’ll also have to see if this is a regional set or not as it does feature something prominent from the UK and we usually don’t get stuff like that here in the US. If it is, you can always build your own with the instructions but you’ll be missing the stickers for the advertisements on the sides of the bus.

LEGO Issues Official Statement Regarding Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS (42056) Instructions

LEGO Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS (42056)

LEGO has released an official statement in the LAN regarding the gear instruction issue for the LEGO Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS. A few other reviews out there have expressed concern that the gears weren’t shifting in the correct order. If you read the statement below, LEGO did take this point into consideration and decided that the way that it was built in the instructions gave more of a smoother experience but that’s up for the individual builders to decide which way to build it.

Thank you to all our dedicated fans for the comments regarding the GT3 RS by LEGO Technic.

It is correct that the gears in this model are not sequential as in the real Porsche PDK. This is however, a deliberate decision taken to ensure that we make the best possible LEGO version of this amazing car that both meets our design requirements and gives everyone a great building and product experience.

It was a considered decision taken during development that the gears running in the correct order meant that it did not result in a great experience when driving the car. Too many gears are engaged at the same time and smooth running with all those tolerances is just not possible.

If you switch the build in steps 267 and 269 the gears will run sequentially, and everyone who feels that this is the better solution should feel encouraged to do so.

LEGO Technic really is the ultimate open source design product and now that it is finally available, we
