LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon Being Released in Future?

Over on the Bricklink forums, there is a discussion that LEGO is planning a re-release of the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Series Millennium Falcon (10179) at end of this year or early next year. The originator of the thread states someone “very reliable” from Denmark emailed them about the news. There’s no details if the re-release is the same as the previous model or a new design. These are rumors but it’s something to keep an eye on.

As we all know, the UCS Millennium Falcon is a highly sought item from the LEGO Star Wars line and are many collectors’ white whale item. They are currently going for a couple of thousand dollars on the secondary market and people have also resorted to buying the parts separately to build their own.

Again, these are all rumors but we’ll stay on top of it. More details as they come.

The LEGO Movie Sequel Has Release Date of May 26, 2017

The LEGO Movie sequel that we’ve been reporting about now has a tentative release date of May 26, 2017 according to Box Office Mojo. Warner Bros. has already recruited screenwriter Jared Stern (Wreck-It Ralph, Mr. Popper’s Penguins) and Michelle Morgan to start working on a script for the follow-up to The LEGO Movie. There is no word on who will be directing the sequel but Phil Lord and Christopher Miller has stated they would like to produce the second movie.

As we also reported a few days ago, there will also be a LEGO Ninjago movie by Warner Bros. that will be released in the future and there were talks about which movie would be released in theaters first. Now that there’s a date for sequel, we can probably assume that the Ninjago movie will be coming out first with the sequel still three years out.

The LEGO Movie has been tops of the box office for the past few weeks and it looks to stay on top this weekend even though there are some movies coming out this week like Pompeii and 3 Days to Kill. Early forecasts show that The LEGO Movie will still stay on top after this weekend. It has already made over $200 million worldwide and it doesn’t look like it will slow down anytime soon.

The LEGO Movie Experience Opens at LEGOLAND California Resort

The Lego Movie Experience at LLCA

The new The LEGO Movie Experience is now open to the public at LEGOLAND California Resort. The Experience features a behind-the-scenes look at the real movie set seen in the film. You get to see the “basement” area that was shown in The LEGO Movie which shows the many different worlds of the movie including Bricksburg, The Old West, Cloud Cuckoo Land, the Octan Tower, and Middle Zealand just to name a few. The whole set took a team of 10 LEGO Master Builders 5 weeks to design the models and 2,000 hours to build the whole thing. Below are some other interesting facts about The LEGO Movie set:

1,200: Models on the set (two or more pieces stuck together)

3,863,484: Number of LEGO bricks used to create the set

15,080,330: Total LEGO pieces seen in the entire movie. If you were to build the entire film with LEGO, this is how many bricks you’d need.

116: Number of buildings made from LEGO.

165: Number of vehicles

15: Number of spaceships

1,423: Number of minifigures

The whole experience doesn’t stop there. There are also models displayed at the LEGOLAND Hotel as well. The model of the logo took about 4 Master Builders around 220 hours to complete. It is 8 feet long, 2.5 feet high, and 2.5 feet deep and weighs about 1,200 pounds. Check out the video below for a preview of The LEGO Movie set before you go and see the real thing. Could LEGO Ninjago Movie Hit Theaters Before The LEGO Movie Sequel?

Last year, we reported that a LEGO Ninjago movie by Warner Bros. will be heading to movie theaters. A few weeks ago, we also reported that the studio has already started working on a script for The LEGO Movie sequel. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the Warner Bros. will soon decide whether to do go ahead and do a sequel for The LEGO Movie as well as the Ninjago movie at the same time and if they do, they have to decide which one will come to theaters first. Dan Lin and Roy Lee, who helped produced The LEGO Movie, will join directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller as the producers for Ninjago. Charlie Bean who directed Tron: Uprising on Disney XD will direct the Ninjago movie. Dan and Kevin Hageman, who wrote Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu for Cartoon Network, will also be involved in the new movie.

Warner Bros. has rights to only one sequel for The LEGO Movie so The LEGO Group could go to another studio if they wanted to. By adding another film from the LEGO Universe, this will help establish a stronger bond between the companies.

There are no details at this time of what the LEGO Ninjago movie will consist of but we can expect the same type of action/adventure style that the cartoon series has plus throw in the humor that the show provides. Although Ninjago is a theme focused mainly to younger males, Dan and Kevin note that 30% of Cartoon Network’s audience is female so there … Continue

LEGO The Hobbit Legolas Greenleaf Polybag Included with Blu-Ray Combo

The Hobbit The Desolation of Smaug - LEGO Legolas Polybag

The One Ring has revealed the box art for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug home video release. The Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Combo Pack of the movie will also include the LEGO Legolas Greenleaf (30215) polybag. There’s no mentioning of which retailer will have this box set with the polybag included but signs point to Target. Last year, Target sold the same combo pack of An Unexpected Journey with a Bilbo Baggins minifigure so it seems likely that they will do the same thing for the second part of the trilogy.
