LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Video Game Announced

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Video Game

LEGO, Marvel, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and TT Games have announced their latest addition to the video games line, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. The game will be available Fall 2013 for various systems including Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii U, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, and Windows PC. The game will be looking to joining many successful LEGO games including Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones, as well as Batman and Batman 2.

The storyline will center around Nick Fury calling many Marvel Super Heroes including Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine, and with more than 100 Marvel characters to unlock, to save the Earth from the forces of Loki and Galactus. There are 8 scenes from the X-Men, Iron Man and Spider-Man franchises and hints of scenes from the new Iron Man 3 film as well. I also wonder if LEGO will be throwing in an exclusive pre-order minifigure like with some of the other LEGO video games. If so, who could it be?

LEGO Lord of the Rings Xbox 360 Video Game Mixup

If you’re planning on picking up the new LEGO Lord of the Rings video game for the Xbox 360, you might want to open it up in the store before you go home. GameInformer is reporting that certain shipments of the game contain a demo disc of the game instead of the actual game. So far, this issue is only affecting the Xbox version and not the PS3 version. If you’ve preordered the Xbox version to get the Elrond minifigure today, check your game or else you’ll have an expensive demo and minifig on your hands.

Update: Although the discs are marked a demo, some of them might be the full game. IGN has gotten their hands on one of these “demo” discs and confirmed that the are actually the full game.

**Spoilers**

The demo takes place at the end of The Two Towers with a cutscene where the characters arrive at Helm’s Deep and prepare for battle. After the cutscene, you get to play as Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli to solve a puzzle to get to the top of the castle walls. Then another cutscene starts where a Rohan archer accidentally shoots and kills an Uruk-hai and the battle begins. Again, you control the characters and you have to destroy the ladders that are perched against the wall. There are three rounds of this. Shortly, another cutscene starts with a berserker runs towards the wall where explosives are set while Legolas and Gilmi fail to stop him. The wall explodes and you gain control of the characters again to retreat into the keep. A short cutscene again you have to hold off the Uruk-hai and repair the door.
