Back at SDCC, we got a first look at the upcoming The LEGO Ninjago Movie garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON! (70656) but we now have the official images of the set. Toys R Us Japan has uploaded the images to their product page in anticipation of the set be available later on.
garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON! (70656) is a play on words for The LEGO Movie’s Benny’s Spaceship, Spaceship, SPACESHIP! (70816). This set will have 830 pieces and will retail for $79.99 at Toys R Us and at LEGO starting on December 1. You can also check out the other sets in the second wave of The LEGO Ninjago Movie here.

Please tell them to stop! I have no interest in Ninjago but have already bought most of the movie line… this is just the most stupidly brilliant set and will be very hard for me to resist!
So for 2018, there will be upcoming waves of TLBM, Ninjago Movie and Jurassic Park sets? Am I missing anything else? That’s already a lot… can’t imagine if they announce anything else. Will their stores be even able to carry their whole selection..?
i assume add han solo and avengers to the mix.
I guess they can’t control what movies come out, and when…
i think lego has to start splitting up these sets. making more little sets. more little sets and more big sets but WAY less middle sized sets. like jays blue fighter, the crab mech should have been a 7.99 set with just one crab guy. i would have bought 3 of those sets alone. since lego has so many licenses, by making smaller sets, you give collectors more choices to buy what they want but buy DIFFERENT brands. like i would rather have 3 20 buck sets, 1 ninjago, 1 star wars 1 dc superheros for 60 bucks, instead of ONE ninjago ship for 60.
during this tru promotion to get the bricktober figures, in my head im trying to get as many minifigs as possible on sale for 50 bucks to get the free 4 packs. so that is tricky when choosing sets, some bigger sets (like the a-wing) have fewer minifigs.
4 figures seems fair for a $40 set, one figure for each $10.
But, if you make all the sets cheap or expensive, then the scenes or vehicles they represent are crammed in and condensed to the point where the set just looks plain awful. (I’m looking at you carbon freezing chamber, duel on Naboo)
Maybe, but I think you can handle those sets in a way that doesn’t feel like you’ve lost much. The carbon freezing was pretty good for what you got, it met all the required content and you don’t need more to get the point. Dual on Naboo could have done better without the joke of a wall, and using those pieces to expand the size of the fighting area.
i think lego has to give up on the play features. yes it is cool to move a lever, but i would rather have the set look cooler with bricks then to have hidden levers for play value.
oh yeah lol! BUT like for the blue castle in ninjago, i would rather have had the stone lions be separate sets for 30 bucks each. 1 lion, 2 minifigs for 30 bucks. no ‘background’ scene, just bricks to build the lions. the lions in the movie blow away the brick built released versions.
naboo duel needed to be 40 bucks 3 figures. more bricks. carbon 40 bucks 4 figures lol!
and theyre still wondering why they’re not making as much profit?! this is why! they’re designing way more sets (especially the +200$ ones) than they can sell!
edit: Harry Potter, Star Wars (TLJ and Han Solo), Incredibles and theyre ”regular series” (like city, ninjago and friends) are coming with new sets too
Anyone know if the two pieces of hot dog cart signage are printed or stickers?
They’re stickers.
🙁
Thank you.
