A few weeks ago, I posed a question for the readers to rank their favorite LEGO Creator modular buildings from all the ones that have been released so far to the upcoming Downtown Diner (10260). We’ve had over 1,800 responses to the survey and here are the results of what you guys feel is your favorite modular.
1. Parisian Restaurant – 13.67%
2. Assembly Square – 11.74%
3. Detective’s Office – 11.52%
4. Green Grocer – 10.84%
5. Fire Brigade – 9.63%
6. Palace Cinema – 8.41%
7. Downtown Diner – 7.22%
8. Town Hall – 6.46%
9. Cafe Corner – 5.82%
10. Pet Shop – 5.58%
11. Grand Emporium – 3.91%
12. Brick Bank – 3.17%
13. Market Street – 2.03%
The results are very interesting because the Downtown Diner is in the middle of the pack even though it hasn’t been released yet but people like it enough based on the images. It’s also somewhat not surprising that Market Street is last due it it not being that popular even though it was one of the very first modulars released.
Thank you to everyone who participated. Can you give a reason of how you ranked the modulars? Let us know in the comments below. Hopefully we can do more of these ranking posts in the future.

I would not have included the diner in the poll, then do another one in like March after it was released.
But looking at the bottom ones I think that’s where the diner will stay.
Very surprised the Fire Brigade ranks so high. I feel that was a disappointing set as the interior detail was a step down from Green Grocer. On the flip side, the Brick Bank ranks so low despite so much detail including the best flooring of any set (in my opinion).
Very surprised to see the Town Hall so low. That doesn’t explain the demand for it and the price tag on it, which can easily run $450 used these days, and is more expensive than any modular except Cafe Corner/Green Grocer. Perhaps it’s more popular with non-collectors than it is with collectors who frequent this site. But it’s easily my favorite modular.
Also surprised to see the Brick Bank so low — perhaps the color scheme hurt it? It’s a great build and a very classy display piece.
The rest of the list is about how I’d expect it, though I’m mildly surprised to see Assembly Square so high, even though I put it at #2 as well.
I’m not surprised to see Brick Bank so low. It’s certainly the feeling I get from reading comments on Reddit, Brickset, and here on the Brick Fan. I definitely think it’s an underrated Modular, but part of me gets that it’s just not as fun as some of the rest. I think it is because it’s such a stately look. And it’s a bank. If you go back to when you were a kid (when you fell in love with LEGO) which of these places were you excited to to go? Probably fire station, cinema, even a grocery store–and you just were never excited to go to the bank with your mom or dad. I do think that has something to do with it. I guess going to the detective’s office never came up as a kid, but at least it sounds cool.
I’m very surprised by the low ranking of the Brick Bank. It is such a nice building both inside and out. And it does have some very fun play-features with the whole money laundering operation. I’m also surprised by the fairly low ranking of the Pet Shop. It is the Modular that has been around the longest before it was retired. The color-scheme is so nice and the split feature has been very useful for layouts. It’s also interesting that every time the community gets polled (no matter on what blog or forum), the Parisian always ends up as number one. It is my favorite too, but it’s just interesting that LEGO designers haven’t been able to top the beauty and popularity of the Parisian.
Brick bank is one of my favourite sets. I love the colour scheme as I have fond memories of going to a bank similar in design as a kid.
