LEGO Brand Stores Closed Due to Coronavirus

LEGO has announced on the LEGO Ambassador Network that due to the Coronavirus situation around the world, all LEGO Brand Stores will be closed until March 27. The only exception is with the stores in China. LEGO Shop@Home will still be open but depending on your country, delivery services may be slightly impacted as well.

These days of uncertainty it’s important and stay safe. Yesterday, we closed all of our owned and operated LEGO® Brand Retail Stores with the exception of China up to and including March 27. Thousands of people visit our stores each day, and despite all the precautions we had taken to remain open we could no longer guarantee a safe environment for colleagues and costumers.

The online shop at LEGO.com is still open and we continue to work hard to meet costumers requests and wishes. We are seeing shoppers are buying LEGO sets to help them through these tough times. And at the same time, we will navigate with attention to everyone’s health and wellbeing.

LEGO Build-a-Minifigure Tower Temporarily Unavailable

It looks like the Coronavirus situation has been affecting things more and more by each day and the latest one is at LEGO Stores here in the US. As you can see from the image above, the LEGO Build-a-Minifigure tower has been cleared out completely. This was at the Las Vegas location but I think all locations across the world will be doing the same thing soon.

If you saw some of my previous posts, LEGO has been doing a lot to help with the situation. First they have temporarily closed the LEGO House for few weeks, possibly longer, and they have also turned off Bricks & Pieces for ordering to keep workers who pick the parts safe. LEGO has also instructed some employees to work from home as well. In the LEGO fan community, many events have been cancelled or moved to a different date so far.

Thanks to Barry for the heads up.

LEGO Bricks & Pieces Shut Down Due to Coronavirus

The Coronavirus pandemic has been causing a lot of short time issues around the world and the latest one is with LEGO Bricks & Pieces. A few days ago Danish authorities announced the closure of Denmark and that pretty much affected most of LEGO’s operations. With Bricks & Pieces, it affects the number of people who are picking the parts for the orders. To keep the workers safe, LEGO has decided to shut it down temporarily but everything else on LEGO Shop@Home is still normal. There’s no word on when it will be back up but I assume it’ll just go back up without any announcements so keep checking on it.

Due to COVID-19 we’ve had to introduce special measures at all our sites to reduce the risk of infection, including reducing the number of people who can work together at any one time to pick bricks for Bricks & Pieces. Buying bricks therefore isn’t available at the moment. This only applies to Bricks & Pieces – everything else is business as usual. We’ll have the service back up and running as soon as possible.

LEGO House From AFOL to LEGO Designer Event Postponed Until 2021

Last year, I reported that the LEGO House will be holding an event called From AFOL to LEGO Designer which was supposed to be happening this Friday. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, LEGO has announced through the LEGO Ambassador Network that the event will be postponed to 2021. Fans who have already booked their trip will unfortunately be stuck with a sticky situation.

The fan event was intended for fans to meet and greet three LEGO designers Mark John Stafford, Justin Ramsden, and Marcos Bessa. We’ll update with more information as soon as there are more details for the 2021 event.

The decision was not taken light hearted but was necessary due to the Corona Virus situation and the to this connected internal LEGO Group guidelines.

We will postpone this fan evening to 2021.
