Rumored LEGO Direct to Consumer Sets Retiring in 2020

It’s that time of the year where we get some information of what LEGO sets will be retiring soon. According to my sources, there will be some popular LEGO direct to consumer sets that will be going away by the end of the year. I’ve been told that the LEGO Creator Downtown Diner (10260), Taj Mahal (10256), and the LEGO Ideas Tree House (21318) will be retired. Only the Ideas set hasn’t been out for a year as of this writing. One of the reasons why the Tree House is going away so fast is that there are so many upcoming Ideas sets in the pipeline, there’s no more room for it on the shelves.

Most of the sets are out of stock on Shop@Home but the Diner is available on Amazon. I suggest checking the store stock on the Shop@Home product pages to see if your local LEGO Brand Store still has them.

LEGO Ideas Seasons in Time: Calendar Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Seasons in Time: Calendar by BrentWaller is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The 2,000 piece build features a functional calendar that allows you to change the day, date, and month and it also includes some seasonal vignette builds to showcase.

It now joins The Mountain Windmill, Community – Greendale Community College, LEGO HeroQuest, Brickwest Studios, House from Up, Animal Crossing New Horizons: Nook’s Cranny, Trabant 601, Night at the Museum, Fast Food Corner, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Portal 2 – GLaDOS vs Chell and Wheatley, BMW M1 (E26), Caribbean Clipper, Sheriff’s Safe with Combination Lock, 31 Minutos T.V. Studio, Southwest 737-800, and Terry Pratchett’s Discworld as the projects to reach the Second 2020 Review Stage.

LEGO Accepting Backorders for LEGO Ideas Pirates of Barracuda Bay (21322)

LEGO is now accepting backorders for the LEGO Ideas Pirates of Barracuda Bay (21322) on Shop@Home. A few days ago, I reported that various LEGO Brand Stores have them in stock and it looks like there’s a bit more inventory to shift it online again. The set will be shipping by July 30 so hurry if you’ve been waiting for it to come back.

LEGO Ideas Pirates of Barracuda Bay (21322) Restocking at LEGO Brand Stores

The LEGO Ideas Pirates of Barracuda Bay (21322) has been extremely popular to the point where it has been sold out on LEGO Shop@Home since its release. I’ve been told that various LEGO Brand Stores have restocked in limited quantities. I can’t say which stores have it or not because each has different restock schedules. The best way to see if your store has it is to use the “Check Store Stock” feature on the product page above and double check by calling the store. If you are going out, take precautions and stay safe.

LEGO Ideas International Space Station (21321) on Sale at LEGOLAND Shop

The LEGO Ideas International Space Station (21321) is currently on sale over at the LEGOLAND California online shop. It is priced at $62.99 which is just 10% off but keep in mind that this set hasn’t been on sale before until now, even on Amazon. The International Space Station has been in the news recently as NASA astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley arrived there using the first commercially built and operated spacecraft by SpaceX.

LEGO Ideas Sailing Ship Adventures Announced as Future GWP Winner

A few months ago, LEGO ran a building contest on LEGO Ideas to build a vacation set and the winning set, chosen by fans, will become a future gift with purchase set. Today LEGO has announced that winning build which is the Sailing Ship Adventure by yc_solo which won by a mere eight votes. That build will now go into production and you will be able to get your hands on it some time down the road.

These contests are ran to give fans the opportunity to become a part of LEGO history as fan designers. Other contests like this include the Rocket Ride (40335) and an upcoming vintage car.

LEGO Ideas Terry Pratchett’s Discworld Achieves 10,000 Supporters

Terry Pratchett’s Discworld by BrickHammer is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The set is based on comic fantasy series that is set on a flat planet balanced on backs of four elephants which stand on the back of a giant turtle. The build itself contains about 2,650 pieces.

It now joins The Mountain Windmill, Community – Greendale Community College, LEGO HeroQuest, Brickwest Studios, House from Up, Animal Crossing New Horizons: Nook’s Cranny, Trabant 601, Night at the Museum, Fast Food Corner, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Portal 2 – GLaDOS vs Chell and Wheatley, BMW M1 (E26), Caribbean Clipper, Sheriff’s Safe with Combination Lock, 31 Minutos T.V.
