LEGO Ideas Old Fishing Store (21310) Review

LEGO Ideas Old Fishing Store (21310)

The Old Fishing Store project by Robert “RobenAnne” Bontenbal was listed on LEGO Ideas on December 8, 2015 and it only took 44 days for it to achieve 10,000 supporters. Ten months after that, it was announced that it will become an official set which was revealed only a few months ago. It has then evolved to the largest LEGO Ideas set (21310) coming in at 2,049 pieces and will retail for $149.99. The scheduled release date for it will be September 1 at LEGO Brand Stores and on Shop@Home.

If you’ve been waiting for the LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309), Amazon has some available for purchase. The only weird thing is that it’s available at normal price of $119.99 with Frustration-Free Packaging. Don’t know how that would work since it’s just a box but there you go. Not sure how many are in-stock but Shop@Home has been out of stock for a while so this is your best chance to get one. Go, go, go!

LEGO Ideas Old Fishing Store (21310) Available at LEGOLAND California

If you can’t wait for the LEGO Ideas Old Fishing Store (21310) to become available at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home, you may want to head on over to LEGOLAND California if you live close to it. I’ve been told that they have it for sale early at The Big Store. It’ll officially be released on September 1 and there are some The LEGO Ninjago Movie promos but there’s also a chance that it’ll sell out very quickly so you’ll have to weigh the pros and cons of getting it at LEGOLAND.

The LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309) is now available again on Shop@Home but who knows for how long. The availability of this set has been scarce but as of this time, the set can be added to the cart and you’ll also be getting the LEGO Iconic Cave (5004936) as a promotional item.

LEGO Ideas Old Fishing Store (21310) Fan Designer Signings Announced

LEGO Ideas Old Fishing Store (21310)

The new LEGO Ideas Old Fishing Store (21310) won’t be available here in the US until September but folks overseas will be able to get it early and have it signed by the fan designer.

A few days ago, LEGO released a stop-motion video called Antons Cat Adventures and at the end of the clip, there’s some information about some upcoming events for the set. On August 23, there will be a live stream event starting at 7:30pm and also listed are dates at specific LEGO flagship stores that will have the Old Fishing Store available early. Fan designer Robert Bontenbal will also be on hand to sign it as well.

August 24/1-4pm – London – LEGO Store Leicester Square
August 25/1-4pm – France – LEGO Store Paris Forum les Halles
August 26/10am-1pm – Germany – LEGO Store Berlin
August 27/12-3pm – Denmark – LEGO Store Copenhagen

LEGO Ideas I Am Your Father Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The I Am Your Father project by szabomate90 is the latest one to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The 1,482 brick project recreates the iconic scene from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back where Darth Vader reveales his parentage to Luke.

It now joins Gilmore Girls – Luke’s Diner, Wonders of Peru, and NF-15B Research Aircraft as the projects to reach the Second 2017 Review Stage.

LEGO Third 2016 Review Stage Winner Announced

LEGO has just announced the results of the Third 2016 Review Stage over on the LEGO Ideas blog. The projects that were under consideration include Boat Repair Shop, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. “The Bus” Hulkbuster UCS, LEGO Store Modular Version, Red Dwarf, Landrover 4×4, Volkswagen Golf MK1 GTI, Vintage Tram, 1950’s Diner, Ship in a Bottle, The Flagship Leviathan, Rey’s Speeder, and The Iron Giant as well as Voltron – Defender of the Universe which was held over from the Second 2016 Review Stage.

And the winner is…

Ship in a Bottle, The Flagship Leviathan

It was also announced that Voltron – Defender of the Universe passed the review as well and I’m really excited for that one as a long time fan of the show.
