LEGO Creative Storybook (40291) Closer Look

LEGO Creative Storybook (40291)

If you didn’t see it a few days ago, I posted about the June 2018 LEGO Store Calendar and the big promotion for the month is the LEGO Creative Storybook (40291). It will be free with a purchase of $99 or more from June 4-20, while supplies last, and it is basically in the style of a pop-up book based on Hans Christian Andersen and his fairy tale stories.

As I mentioned before, this promo set may be a teaser to a LEGO Ideas project that may turn out to become an official set later on but we’ll see. In the meantime, we can look forward to the Creative Storybook which shows a scene from The Ugly Duckling along with Andersen writing a story in an outdoor setting.

LEGO Creative Personalities (40291) Promotional Set Revealed

LEGO Creative Personalities (40291)

The May/June 208 German flyer is now available and inside there’s a new promotional set that looks to be very interesting. From June 4-24 with purchases of 65€, you can get a free LEGO Creative Personalities (40291) set which is a set based on Hans Christian Andersen and his stories. As you can see from the image above, it is a pop-up book build that shows Andersen writing a story outdoors on a cobblestone area. The other side of the book shows a water area with a white swan. This is presumably based on the popular fairy tale story, The Ugly Duckling.

There’s no word at this time whether or not this promotional set will be available here in the states. Maybe this set could be a hint to something we can also expect from LEGO Ideas. If you remember, the Pop-Up Book by JK Brickworks is currently under review on LEGO Ideas and this set could come out in conjunction with it as a gift-with-purchase set. This all depends on the Pop-Up Book coming out as the winner of the Third 2017 Review Stage but that announcement is still a long ways away. This is purely speculation by me but what are your guys’ thoughts about this little LEGO Creative Personalities (40291) set?

LEGO Minifigure Factory (5005358) Official Images

LEGO Minifigure Factory (5005358)

The official images of the LEGO Minifigure Factory (5005358) are now available on LEGO’s servers in preparation of them being available starting on April 1. The promotional set is to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the LEGO minifigure and you can get it for free with a purchase of $75 or more at LEGO Brand Stores or Shop@Home from April 1-15, while supplies last.

We can now clearly see the microfigures that will be included with the set which are a policeman, a pirate, a classic spaceman, P.I.X.A.L. from Ninjago, and a nurse. There’s also a regular minifigure of a LEGO designer as well.

LEGO Minifigure Factory (5005358) Coming in April

LEGO Minifigure Factory (5005358)

LEGO will celebrating the 40th anniversary of the LEGO minifigure in April and there are things happening next month to commemorate the event. One of the things is the release of the Series 18 LEGO Collectible Minifigures which will have a special Classic Police Officer to find. Another thing they are doing is releasing an exclusive promotional LEGO Minifigure Factory (5005358). According to the April 2018 LEGO Store Calendar, you can get for free with a purchase of $75 or more from April 1-15, while supplies last.

The set itself looks like it will be using the cardboard box it comes in as part of the layout. The build will include a factory with some microfigures such as a classic spaceman, a policeman, and what looks to be P.I.X.A.L. from Ninjago as well as a red wagon on the side. The minifigure also looks interesting as it seems to have a nice looking yellow shirt. One of the bummers of this set is that it does use part of the box as the setting and not using LEGO bricks to create the walls. I think this is a misstep but we’ll have to get a clearer look when the official images come out in a few weeks to make a judgement on it.

What do you think of the set and will you be picking it up next month?

LEGO 30499 Polybag Now Available at Walmart

LEGO 30499

If you’re in the US and are looking for the LEGO 30499 polybag, Walmart may be the place you need to head to. It seems that various Walmart locations are now stocking the polybag. It can also be found at LEGOLAND and LEGOLAND Discovery Centers as well. As for the set itself, it’s basically just a bunch of random parts for a free build. There are also instructions to create the models shown on the front of the polybag. It’s nothing too spectacular but polybag collectors will probably want to pick it up.

Thanks to Kelly for the heads up.
