LEGO Seasonal Trick or Treat (40122) Review

LEGO Seasonal Trick or Treat (40122)

A few days ago, we got our first look at the new LEGO Seasonal Trick or Treat (40122) set. The set is officially available on September 1st but some LEGO Stores have started receiving their shipments of it. I’ve managed to purchase a set and here’s my review of it.

LEGO Seasonal Trick or Treat (40122)

The Trick or Treat set contains 133 pieces and retails for $9.99 like previous Seasonal sets. The contents of the box include three un-numbered bags, a small instruction booklet, and two loose dark green 4×8 plates.

LEGO Seasonal Thanksgiving Feast (40123)

After the reveal of the LEGO Seasonal Halloween Trick or Treat (40122) set yesterday, there’s now an image of the next seasonal set, the Thanksgiving Feast (40123). This image comes from the back of the instruction booklet from the Trick or Treat set and it shows a vignette of a Thanksgiving dinner with an older couple. This set will be available at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home in October for $9.99.

LEGO Seasonal Halloween Trick or Treat (40122)

(1)Stein over on Eurobricks has revealed the new LEGO Seasonal Halloween Trick or Treat (40122) set. The set features a small vignette with a small black tree and a trick or treater. From first impressions, it doesn’t look as the Valentine’s Day Dinner (40120) or the Painting Easter Eggs (40121) sets but I’ll still try to pick it up nonetheless. It’ll be available at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home in September for $9.99. They might even show up at LEGO Stores earlier so if you want one of these sets, you have to act fast because these little exclusive sets tend to sell out pretty quickly.

LEGO Seasonal Valentine’s Day Dinner (40120) Found at Ross

LEGO Seasonal Valentine's Day Dinner (40120)

If you missed out on picking up the LEGO Seasonal Valentine’s Day Dinner (40120)icon back in February, you may want to check out your closest Ross department stores. There have been reports that these sets have been showing up there at a discounted price of $7.99. It might not be much of a sale but considering that the set has been retired and sold out on Shop@Home and at LEGO Stores, it’s still a nice find.

Who knows if future LEGO Seasonal sets will be showing up at Ross stores in the future after they’ve been sold out at LEGO stores and on Shop@Home but keep your eyes peeled. Thanks to Victor for emailing in.

LEGO Seasonal Painting Easter Eggs (40121) Review

LEGO has recently released the latest LEGO Seasonal set of the year with the Painting Easter Eggs (40121)icon set. For 2015, LEGO has changed their format of the sets to a vignette-type set which started with the Valentine’s Day Dinner (40120). For the Easter set, it has 153 pieces and retails for $9.99. The box contains three unnumbered bags and an instructions booklet.

New Image of LEGO Seasonal Easter Set (40121)

LEGO Seasonal Easter Set (40121)

Brickset has posted a clearer image of the box art for the upcoming LEGO Seasonal Easter set (40121). We first saw this set on the back of the instructions booklet during our review for the Valentine’s Day Dinner (40120) set. The 151 piece scene shows a female painting some Easter eggs in a kitchen. While not shown clearly on the front of the box, there is also an oven to bake some cookies.

If you haven’t picked up the Seasonal sets this year, LEGO has shifted from the cute animals to these 8×8 vignettes to represent the different holidays throughout the year. I’ve been told that we can expect to see the Easter set hitting LEGO Stores late February/early March and most likely on Shop@Home on March 1st. There’s no mention of the price for it but I assume it will be $9.99 as usual.

LEGO Seasonal Valentine’s Day Dinner (40120) Review

Minifigures

There are two minifigures in the set, the male fiancé-to-be and the female fiancé-to-be. The male wears a dark blue pinstripe suit with a tie. The legs are also dark blue. He has a confident smirk on his face as though he knows the female will accept his proposal.

The female minifigure wears a purple blouse with flower patterns on the front of the torso. She also has purple pants to match the torso. She has a happy expression with a short bob cut hairstyle.

Build

The build itself is a small vignette which is part of the inside of a restaurant. It is has a two seater round table filled with wine glasses and pink cakes. What’s nice about this set is the sand green profile bricks that you get. They only appeared in two other sets and there are seven of them in this Valentine’s Day Dinner set. If you’re looking to stock up on them, this is probably the most efficient way to get them. If you’ve bought them before on BrickLink, you know they don’t come by cheap. There are also a couple of lamps that hang on the wall as well as some flowers that sit on the window sill.
