New LEGO Shop@Home Design Launched Worldwide

If you haven’t been LEGO Shop@Home recently, you may have noticed some changes. That is because yesterday a new design has has been rolled out worldwide. Pretty much everything you’ve known and love has changed in some way.

I’ve read there are still some issues with the cart and the checkout process but hopefully that’ll be fixed soon. Also there are discount codes for various countries but it doesn’t seem to have one for the US.

Drastic change is something at people don’t really like when they first see it but maybe over time, that will change. Check out some of the features in the video below.

LEGO October 2016 Store Calendar Promotions & Events

It looks like the October 2016 LEGO Store Calendar is now available and we can see some of the promotions and events for the month. I’ll update with higher quality images when they become available.

September 30: The LEGO Star Wars Death Star (75159) will be available for purchase for the general public.

October 1: The LEGO Creator Winter Holiday Train (10254) will be available for purchase for the general public.

October 1-25: FREE Exclusive Holiday Countdown Calendar (40222) with purchases of $99 or more, while supplies last. Build and rebuild 24 new sets as you count down to the holidays.

October 1-31: Double VIP Points are back for the month.

October 4-5: LEGO VIP Monthly Mini Model build is a Werewolf (40217).

October 14 & 28: Family Game Night at LEGO Brand Stores from 4pm-7pm. Bring in the family to play Who Am I? and the Pirates Chess set. For participating, you can get Who Am I? for 50% off when you purchase the Pirates Chess set.

Akro-Mils 64 Drawer Cabinet on Sale at Amazon

If you’re looking for some extra storage for your LEGO parts, Amazon, as of this writing, has a sale going on for their 64-drawer Akro-Mils cabinet for $25.97 which is 39% off the normal price. Akro-Mils and Stack-On cabinets are some of the more popular storage options but currently Akro-Mils has a slightly better drawer/price ratio.

LEGO builder Tom Alphin made a post a few years ago regarding his storage system and he also uses the same Akro-Mils 64 Drawer which is currently on sale. In addition, the Akro-Mils 24 Drawer cabinet is at $19.97 which is 51% off the list price.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge (76057) 20% Off

If you were thinking about creating a full bridge using the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge (76057) set, now is a great time to pick up another copy as it is on sale for 20% off. Toys R Us has a 20% promotion going on for various LEGO Super Heroes sets and Amazon is matching the prices for this week. Toys R Us does have a better deal on Thursday if you have their credit card to save an additional 10%.

As for the Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge (76057) set, it does have a lot of exclusive minifigures that you can get such as Scarlet Spider, Spider-Girl, Kraven, the Scorpion, Green Goblin, and Aunt May. Plus creating the other half of the bridge to make a full one is awesome in its own right as well. With the sale, the price per piece ratio goes down to $0.07/piece and that’s not too shabby for a licensed set. If you’re looking to attach two bridges together, Mark over at Bricks Magazine has done a video tutorial on how to do it which you can check out below.

LEGO 2001: A Space Odessey Themed T-Shirt on Ript Apparel

Ript Apparel has a new LEGO-themed t-shirt today that is inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey. It features some gorilla minifigures admiring a black 2×4 plate similar to what happens in the film. The shirt starts at $11 and is available for another 18 hours as of this post.

LEGO Double VIP Points Event Confirmed for This Weekend

It seems that the rumor of the Double VIP Points event at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home is indeed true for this weekend. So far, we can only see it on the mobile version but there is a promo listing for August 6-8. The weird thing that you can make purchases today on the regular desktop Shop@Home site and it does state that the points are doubled on the product listings and on your shopping cart. I’ll also state that the Double VIP event is for USA and I’m not sure if other countries have it or not.

Update: The promo is now listed on the desktop version of Shop@Home and it now states August 5-7 as was mentioned before.

LEGO Super Heroes Summer 2016 Sets Available on Amazon

If you prefer shopping on Amazon for some of the new LEGO summer 2016 sets, you’ll be glad to know that the Super Heroes sets, minus the store exclusives, are now available at their normal prices.
