There are finally official images of the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Batman: Rescue from Ra’s al Ghul (76056) which comes from Amazon Japan via Just2Good on Eurobricks. Looks okay-ish. R’as Al-Ghul and Talia look good, but why does she have an Elvish blade?
Robin is nothing new, and while the torso for Desert Batman is cool, a the overall color scheme needs some work. Either some black lower down to make the cowl fit in better, or a different cowl entirely.
The model itself is so tiny that the price point had better reflect that.
The price on the Japanese Amazon page is 6,458 Yen, which equates to about $60. But this looks like a reseller, not the official price.
Also, I just noticed the adorable sticker explaining how the Lazarus pit works. Reminds me of the Temple of the Grail from the Lego Indy game.
It’s the closest they’ve come to making a naginata (also the closest to a nagamaki, but that’s not nearly as well known). Elvish weapons also look very Middle Eastern.
And with four minifigs, a vehicle that’s bigger than a motorcycle, and an even larger set piece? $40 bars minimum, and more likely in the $50-60 range.
Huh, that’s a cool bit of info on the sword, thanks!
Also, yeah, you’re probably right about the price. The fact that three of those minifigs are exclusive (I’m unsure as to how unique the Damian one is) will probably make it even higher.
This set actually looks like a good expansion to The Hobbit’s “Barrel Escape” set. It even come with an elven sword. 😛
I actually really like this set. Mostly because I never thought we’d get a Ra’s al Ghul and Talia.
Compared to other villains, they’re both quite easy to make custom minifigs for, without even having to use modified or 3rd party parts. Though I am excited to see Ra’s’ hair, which I will need a few loose copies of to upgrade my three different custom B:TAS Ra’s minifigs.
With Batgirl, Deadshot, and Manbat already out, and Killer Moth and the al Ghul family on the way, I think the only major character still on my wish list is Clayface. And right now I’m really hoping they release a model based on how he looks in the LEGO Batman Movie teaser.
