LEGO Ideas Dungeon Master Achieves 10,000 Supporters

In some non-New York Toy Fair 2017 news, the Dungeon Master project by Ymarilego is the latest one to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project is a tabletop game where you create your own dungeons to play in with others. The project proposes enough bricks for 8×8 stud wide rooms with the lairs being 16×16 studs wide. There are three hero minifigures as well as six minifigures of monsters and villains for you to combat.

This project was supported heavily by the tabletop game community including Wil Wheaton and Geek and Sundry, just to name a few. It now joins The Blues Mobile and SEGA Classic Arcade Machines as the projects to reach the First 2017 Review Stage.

so it’s a big version of Heroica?

I know Lego is a geeky pastime to begin with, but…Christ…

There will never, ever, under any circumstances, be an official LEGO set released under the name Dungeon Master. Dungeon Master is a registered trademark created by T$R in 1975 for the Dungeons & Dragons game system. T$R was absorbed by Wizards of the Coast. Wizards of the Coast is owned by Hasbro. Hasbro kinda hates The LEGO Company and would probably rather burn the planet to the ground than make a licensing deal that would allow TLC to produce Hasbro-owned IP. Although I’m sure they’d absolutely love the opportunity to sue them twelve ways from Sunday.

well, I guess Will Wheaton(or whoeve else) will have to bribe Hasbro too.
