After a short delay, the LEGO Ideas WALL•E (21303) set is now available for purchase on Shop@Home. Supposedly, the delay was to include parts 4211695 and 4265484 to help strengthen the neck area but the real problem is with the head joint can’t support the weight of the head. We’ll see if LEGO has addressed this issue as well with the delay or if we’ll have to find alternatives to fix it. One very popular solution is by Chris McVeigh who has posted a guide with parts to fix the head problem. There’s no word yet on when LEGO Stores will have them in stock.

If all the delay was simply to include the two pieces above, then Lego truly has dropped the ball on this one.. I have Chris M. fix on mine but was hoping we will get an official fix from Lego.
A positive spin on this: LEGO intentionally botched the neck so that McVeigh could swoop in and save the day/promote his brand with an effective fix 😉
I love McVeigh’s solution, but where can I get the bricks? Lego.com pick-a-brick is missing a few of the pieces.
Try bricklink.com you should be able to find a store that has all the pieces.
I actually did just this, and though I had to settle for a slightly off shade of grey for a couple pieces (the eyes should hide this entire unit anyway), I did find a store with every piece. Thanks!
