LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Pod (5005376) Revealed

LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Pod

Yesterday I reported on the December 2017 LEGO Store Calendar and probably the most interesting promotion for the month is the LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Pod (5005376). It will be available from December 15 – January 14, 2018 with a LEGO Star Wars purchase of $60 or more, while supplies last.

The Darth Vader Pod continues the series of pods that have been released or will be released this year including the Batman Battle Pod (4929), Nexo Knights Armor Pod (5004914), The LEGO Ninjago Movie Kai’s Dojo Pod (5004916), and Friends Ski Pod (5004920). The latter two Pods are available at Toys R Us. Unlike the other pods in which you can purchase individually, the Darth Vader Pod most likely won’t be unless Toys R Us carries it late next year.

Hate the pods. Once you build inside it is impossible to un-build it. Getting a minifigure is always good but the pods themselves suck.

I haven’t actually tried to disassemble one, but most of the parts that went into the Batman pod have grooves like tiles, or attach to parts that do. The only two exceptions are 1×1 tiles with clips, which stick up enough that you should be able to lever them sideways even if you can’t pull them loose with the part that snaps into the clips.

When is the Nexo Knights pod coming out?

I’m glad the promotion turns through January cuz it’s a gift I want but I can wait till Jan to obtain one. I kinda like it

It’s not terrible, but it’s not very special. If I find it at a Toys R Us randomly as an individual purchase sometime, maybe I’ll pick it up. Not going out of my way for another Darth Vader though.

Not sure why many people would need or want this. I’m sort of relieved though as I could use a break from trying to hit incentives.
