Medieval Market Street Achieves 10,000 Supporters on LEGO Ideas

The Medieval Market Street project by AlexP is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The project features a very detailed market along with some medieval houses which are all three stories high and have different styles and advanced building techniques. Some of the buildings include a blacksmith, pub, stables, and a Sheriff’s residence. The market itself is filled with little stands that are selling various food items. You can check out more images and the backstory of the Town of Lev over on AlexP’s MOCpages. The project would go great with the LEGO Castle Medieval Market Village (10193) from 2008 but it actually looks a bit cooler than the official one.

The Medieval Market Street joins The Discworld and Science Adventures as the projects so far to qualify for the First 2015 Review Stage.

Too many pieces. Will never make it. The proof will come when they don’t approve the Museum. That will indeed be an absolute travesty. I think the Cuusoo/Ideas plan was never intended to be produce anything more than small limited run sets. Actually that’s the limit, there won’t be any that have a high piece count or that are produced in sufficient quantities. Either of those would mean too much profits to the designer (their 1%). If they did the Museum and they produced it enough to fill the demand, they’re probably worried that their own professional in house designers would see this as an alternative freelance type of option. That’s the only thing that makes sense to me, and I think it’s justified. Otherwise limiting the quantity produced and price per set (via only low piece count approvals) it just looks like greed.

Too many pieces, too many figures, if this was ever a set due to the piece count it’d be priced higher than any UCS set we’ve had so far.

Ideas sets like this are just completely fan-dreams, it’ll never happen. Discworld is too specific so doubt that will be made, so it’ll probably be a ‘research lab’ style Science Adventure set…
