In previous years, LEGO has released various Seasonal sets for the holidays which included vignettes and brick-built characters. For 2018, that has changed dramatically as LEGO has incorporated the Seasonal sets into the LEGO BrickHeadz line. A few weeks ago, all of the 2018 LEGO Seasonal BrickHeadz were revealed including the one that is available starting today, the Valentine’s Bee (40270). It consists of 140 pieces and retails for $9.99.
The February 2018 LEGO Store Calendar is now available and we can now see some of the promotions and events for the month. I’ll update with the PDF version as soon as LEGO has it up.
January 28 – February 14: Free 60 Years of the LEGO Brick (40290), with a purchase of $125 or more, while supplies last.
February 14: LEGO Friends Sunflower with a purchase of $20 or more, while supplies last.
January 19-February 13: LEGO City Mining Play Event at LEGO Stores.
January 6-7: LEGO VIP Monthly Mini Model Build is a Car and Gas Pump
February 15: Adults Only Valentine Themed Building Night at LEGO Stores. Sign up is required.
February 17 & 24: LEGO Life Meeting
February 14 – March 4: LEGO City Mounting Police Building Event at LEGO Stores.
February 16-28: Free LEGO Seasonal Year of the Dog (40235) with a purchase of $88 or more, while supplies last.
I have the February 2018 LEGO Store Calendar and one of the main promotions for the month is the LEGO Seasonal Year of the Dog (40235) set. Apparently for this year, it is not an Asian country exclusive as we will be able to get it from February 16-28 with a purchase of $88 or more, while supplies last. The Dog joins a number of previous animals that have been released that are from the Chinese zodiac.
Coincidentally, February 16 is Lunar New Year so it’s nice to see that LEGO has also decided to celebrate the event with this set here in the US. As for the purchase price of $88, the number 88 symbolizes fortune and good luck in Chinese culture. I am very looking forward to the LEGO Year of the Dog set as I am born on this zodiac animal and don’t have to resort to the secondary market to get a copy of it.
It’s January 1 and there are a ton of new LEGO sets that are now available for purchase on Shop@Home and at LEGO Brand Stores. LEGO January 2018 Store Calendar Promotions & Events – The January store calendar is available and we could see some of the new promos including the 60 Years of the LEGO Brick (40290) set.
LEGO DUPLO 2018 Official Set Images – The images for the new 2018 DUPLO sets became available and there are some cute sets for the younger fans.

LEGO Friends 2018 Design Change Explained – Fans have noticed there were some changes in the 2018 LEGO Friends sets and that prompted LEGO to put out an official announcement of their reasoning.
The LEGO Group Wins Copyright Infringement Case Against BELA – LEGO has announced they have won a landmark victory in China against BELO who was infringing on their copyrights.
LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Pod (5005376) Promotion Cancelled – LEGO released a statement regarding the cancellation of the Darth Vader Pod promotion that was supposed to be going on from now until the middle of January.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie theme will be continuing in 2018 and rumor has it that there will be a new direct-to-consumer set called the Ninjago City Docks (70657). It is reported to come in at $299.99 and supposedly a standalone set but could also be an add-on to the current Ninjago City (70620). There are no other details at this time and the idea is out in left field but it’s worth talking about. The new wave of The LEGO Ninjago Movie sets are now available on Shop@Home.
There are now official images of some of the LEGO polybags that will be coming in 2018. This is not an exhaustive list of what we can expect next year but it is some of the ones that we can already look forward to seeing on store shelves and as promotions.
