LEGO Friends Keepsake Box (40266) Review

There’s a LEGO promotion going on at LEGO Brand Stores and on Shop@Home for the LEGO Friends Keepsake Box (40266). The set is free with purchases of a LEGO Friends purchase of $25 or more. The 105 piece set comes in a box and inside, it contains two unnumbered bags, three loose white 6×10 plates, a small sticker sheet, and the instructions.

The build is straight-forward with no advanced techniques. The cover is filled with the stickers applied to the tiles. There’s a plate bow piece used as the handle. The storage area here is 8x4x2.

There’s also a drawer that comes out from the front that is 6x3x1/3 in size. It’s pretty small and pretty limited to what you are able to put inside.

Overall the LEGO Friends Keepsake Box (40266) is an okay set. If you’ve collected some of the other Friends accessory products, this is a good complement to them. It looks like this is this a popular promotion on Shop@Home since it has been replaced with a previous Friends promotion. Your best chance to get it is at LEGO Brand Stores and on the secondary market.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 NYCC 2017 Story Trailer

TT Games has released the story trailer for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 which was the one shown off at New York Comic Con last week. In this trailer, Cosmo narrates as he gets the help of Super Heroes to help defeat Kang and his minions. The trailer shows off some new game scenes as well as some new characters which I can not immediately recognize the names of. In addition, it also gives a glimpse of the Season Pass content which I’ve already talked about.

Update: I’ve been told that some of the characters I could recognize were Stingray, Bowman, and the Red King.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Keychain Offer from i Newspaper

The LEGO Ninjago Movie hits theaters in the UK this week and the British newspaper i has partnered with LEGO for some giveaways. You can get a free Kai keychain at Martin’s, RS McColl, and McColl’s on October 14 using the printed voucher in the paper. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Season Pass Content

If you missed out on the announcement of the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Season Pass content during NYCC 2017 last week, there’s a new graphic showing what will be included. As mentioned before, there will be six Level Packs comprising of Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, Black Panther, Cloak and Dagger, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and the Runaways. There are also four Character Packs that will be in the Season Pass including Agents of Atlas, Out of Time, Champions, and Classic Guardians of the Galaxy.

The Season Pass is packaged with the Deluxe Edition of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 which is just a part of the bundle. Along with it is the exclusive Giant-Man/Goliath LEGO minifigure polybag (30610), the comic art poster of the cover art, and the recently revealed poster of Thanos, Black Panther, Ant-Man, and the Wasp seen above. The game will be available November 14 but I’m sure there will be more reveals between now and then.

LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Sets Confirmed for Spring 2018

It has been officially announced that there will be LEGO sets coming out next year for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. This isn’t really a surprise since we also got LEGO sets for Jurassic World a few years ago but it’s nice to have confirmation of LEGO Jurassic World: Fallen World sets. It was stated they will start hitting store shelves in Spring 2018 in anticipation of the film releasing in June.

Master global toy partner Mattel and LEGO Systems will lead the retail roll-out with toys across a variety of play patterns and age segments, additional toy, role play and costume licensees supporting the second film include Funko, Build-A-Bear, Rubies, Wowee and more.
