LEGO Seasonal 2016 Christmas Ornament (40223) Revealed

LEGO Seasonal 2016 Christmas Ornament (40223)

We’ve just gotten over the holiday season but Brickset has already posted an image of this year’s exclusive LEGO Seasonal set. The 2016 Christmas Ornament (40223) features Santa and Christmas tree in a container with a little house build below it sort of like a snowglobe. This looks to be one of the coolest looking Seasonal set so far. It’ll most likely be available either in October or November when the holiday promotions start. Thanks to BB8fan for the email.

LEGO Disney Princess Frozen Olaf’s Summertime Fun (30397) Polybag Showing Up at Target

LEGO Disney Princess Frozen Olaf's Summertime Fun (30397)

LEGO polybag hunters, it looks like the newest polybag has started to arrive at Target stores with the LEGO Disney Princess Frozen Olaf’s Summertime Fun (30397). It retails for $3.99 and it looks like has has its own DPCI number with 086-14-0140 and was found in the LEGO section. This is pretty much the cheapest way to get the Olaf minifigure without purchasing any of the larger LEGO Frozen sets. Your mileage may vary as some stores may not have the polybag available yet but be on the lookout in the near future. I do know that the LEGO UK has this same polybag as a promo with qualifying purchases. Thanks to Nick for the heads up.

More LEGO Summer 2016 Information Imminent with Upcoming Toy Fairs

Starting tomorrow, toy fair frenzy begins with the London Toy Fair and a few days later, the Nuremberg Toy Fair will be kicking off as well. During these times, we’ll be getting detailed information about the upcoming summer 2016 LEGO sets like their pricing and piece counts and whatnot. Usually at the London Toy Fair, pictures aren’t allowed but we do get in-depth info from LEGO fan sites that are able to attend. I’ll be compiling the information given into a singular post similar to what I did last year.

Later on the in the week, the Nuremberg, aka German Toy Fair, will be going on and this is the fair where we get our legit first images for the summer 2016 sets. Again, I’ll have to rely on our colleagues from across the pond to provide these images which I’ll then put what I can in another post.

Stay tuned in the next week or so to get some juicy information about the summer 2016 LEGO sets.

LEGO Monkey King by Cid Hsiao

lego_monkeyking3

I don’t feature LEGO MOCs that often here but since Lunar/Chinese New Year is coming up in a few weeks which I’m pretty excited about, I think it’ll be nice to feature some based around the holiday since 2016 is the Year of the Monkey. Here we have Cid Hsiao’s version of Sun Wukong, aka the Monkey King.

The amount of detail that went into the build is pretty spectacular especially in the head which sometimes is the hard to create. The build is based on the character in the famous novel, Journey to the West, and in recent times seen in video games such as League of Legends and Smite.

Bricks Issue 9

It was a generation that tasted cable television, fed on Hollywood blockbusters and consumed merchandising like no other. Collectable culture was born, every show came with its own toy line leading to a mass production that oozed originality and new levels of creativity. LEGO upped the anti as new exciting themes hit our shelves. It was here that we were introduced to the likes of Classic Space, Pirates and Castle collections, to name but a few… it was no longer just about the city.
