New The LEGO Batman Movie Batman Battle Pod (5004929) Polybag Found

The LEGO Batman Movie Batman Battle Pod (5004929)

It looks like there’s another The LEGO Batman Movie polybag to search for in the near future. Delta Customs over on Instagram has posted what appears to be an Asian exclusive polybag featuring Batman in his yellow striped tuxedo in some sort of vault case with some accessories. No word on how to get it but it looks pretty neat.

Update: It looks like the polybag will be called the Batman Battle Pod (5004929). It is listed on the LEGO Hong Kong Facebook Page that it will be a GWP with a purchase threshold.

LEGO 2016 Employee Exclusive 50 Years on Track (4002016) Revealed

LEGO 2016 Employee Exclusive 50 Years on Track (4002016)

Now that Christmas is over, I’ve been waiting a few weeks to post this set since images of it first showed up online but I didn’t want to spoil it for the LEGO employees who haven’t received theirs yet. The 2016 LEGO employee exclusive set is called 50 Years on Track (4002016) and it has a whopping 1,141 pieces. The set celebrates six decades of LEGO trains since it was first released in 1966 and it features six different types of trains through the years including:

Motorized Train Set – 1966
Western Train – 1976
Monorail Transport System – 1987
Metroliner – 1991
Emerald Night – 2009
Winter Holiday Train – 2016

Again, the only legit way to get the 50 Years on Track (4002016) set was to be a LEGO employee which also includes LEGO Brand Store associates but that doesn’t stop it from hitting the secondary market such as eBay where it is going for around $250. For those LEGO employees who kept theirs, congratulations as this is a great set especially for LEGO train fans.

The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batwing (30524) Polybag Review

The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batwing (30524)

If you checked out the January 2017 LEGO Store Calendar, you can get The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batwing (30524) polybag for free with purchases of $35 or more at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home from December 27 – January 15. I’ve gotten my hands on one courtesy of LEGO and here’s a little review of it.

The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batwing (30524)

The polybag has 79 pieces and the build is actually not that bad. There’s a pretty nice parts selection including the black shield pieces, some 1x2x2 sloped pieces, and 2×2 wedge plates. The majority of the Batwing is standard building using the sloped pieces to give it a sleek look. The front sloped grill pieces looks cool as well. The front cockpit utilizes a modified 1X2X2/3 brick along with the 2×2 wedge plates which attaches to the 1×2 plate with handle.

The last part of the build are the large wings that uses the shield pieces towards the inner areas. They attach to the hull using hinges which allows the wings to fold horizontal to vertical and everything in between.

Overall, The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batwing (30524) polybag is actually a really nice polybag that you can get fairly easily in a few days. It looks good compared to the one seen in the latest trailer and rumor has it that a larger counterpart will be coming in Summer 2017.

LEGO Ideas Adventure Time (21308) Review

LEGO Ideas Adventure Time (21308)

Back in July, we got our first good look at the next LEGO Ideas set that would be coming out with the Adventure Time (21308) brick-built characters. The set is inspired by Ludovic Piraud whose project hit 10,000 supporters back in May 2015. Here we are now with the set ready to be released on January 2017. LEGO announced that the release date will actually be moved up to December 26. The set will have 495 pieces and will retail for $49.99.

The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batmobile (30521) Polybag Review

The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batmobile (30521)

Continuing with my reviews of The LEGO Batman Movie sets, I actually have one of the new polybags that we haven’t seen yet, The Mini Batmobile (30521). It contains 68 pieces but there’s no word on pricing but I assume it could be $3.99 each.

The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batmobile (30521)

This Batmobile is the miniature version of the 70905 set that is already available in stores. The base of the vehicle is a 2×4 Technic plate with pins that is oriented lengthwise. The ends uses a couple of 1×2 Technic bricks with half beam holes that are held in place with some plates.

The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batmobile (30521)

The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batmobile (30521)

The front uses a Batarang for the ornament while it uses a black shield piece for the canopy top and a droid head for the exhaust. The wings on the sides can fold down on the hinges but nothing too spectacular.

The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batmobile (30521)

The Mini Batmobile can also change to the monster truck mode but it requires you to take off the 1×2 Technic beam and reorient it vertically.

The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batmobile (30521)

Overall, The LEGO Batman Movie The Mini Batmobile (30521) polybag isn’t too bad of a set considering that miniature models of larger sets do not translate as well. If you’re a collector of polybags, I think this one is a good one to pick up when it is available. Again, there’s no word yet on where or when that is at this time.
