We’re not even halfway into October but Christmas is in full swing at LEGO with the release of the first exclusive LEGO Seasonal promotional set with the Holiday Christmas Train (40138). This set is free with purchase of $99 or more at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home. It contains 233 pieces which is about double the size of exclusive Seasonal sets from previous years. The contents of the set include four un-numbered bags and the instructions booklet.
The LEGO Seasonal Holiday Christmas Train (40138) promotion is now live on Shop@Home. You can get the set for free with purchases of $99 or more. This promo also overlaps with the Double VIP points promo and as I reported a few hours ago, double points run until the end of the month so you don’t have to rush. I’ve gotten a few emails from various readers that they said that LEGO Double VIP has been extended again and will last until October 31. There’s also a report by a user on Reddit that also contributes to this report.
As we know by now, the new LEGO Seasonal Holiday Christmas Train (40138) will be available starting tomorrow and will overlap with the Double VIP promo for two days. If this rumor of the extended Double VIP promo is true, we’ll have more time to plan our shopping since there are two more weeks of it. If you don’t want to risk missing out on it, then I suggest making your purchases tomorrow or Wednesday just in case.
I’m trying to confirm if this report is true or not so stay tuned as I’ll update this post when I have an answer.
Update: I’ve gotten confirmation from my store that the extension is indeed true but if you’re also going for the Christmas Train, I suggest getting your orders in early.
In keeping with with reveals of 2016 LEGO sets and minifigures, there’s a new one that popped up on Brick Heroes earlier today. They’ve found an image of the new Wonder Woman minifigure that will be included in a LEGO Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice set (76046). The outfit closely resembles the one that Gal Gadot wears in the movie. Also rumored for that particular set are Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, two other minifigures, the Batwing and a helicopter in the colors of LexCorp.
Update: I’m going to assume that LEGO would want this image taken down too with the takedown notice of the 2016 set images so I’ve went ahead and removed it. Sorry folks.
After a little cool off from all of today’s big news including the announcement of the LEGO Creator Modular Brick Bank (10251), the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas is the Toyota Landcruiser 40 Series by Matthew Inman. The build contains about 1,700 bricks and is very accurate to the real-life counterpart. The Landcruiser is the third project to get the required number of supporters to qualify for the Third 2015 Review Stage joining the Jurassic Park Explorer and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Nautilus. At the BricKorea fan event in South Korea, LEGO has officially announced the next modular to its popular lineup, the LEGO Creator Brick Bank (10251). The set contains 2,380 pieces and retails for $169.99 and will be in January 2016. Modular fans have been waiting for another corner building since 2013 when the Palace Cinema (10232) was released but we’ll be getting one at the beginning of the year.
