LEGO Ideas Doctor Who (21304) Revealed

The past couple of days, LEGO has been teasing fans with images of the upcoming LEGO Ideas Doctor Who (21304) set with a possibility of it being revealed very soon. We don’t have to wait for it because Hoth Bricks has an image of the official set which comes from the French LEGO catalog.

The set comes with 623 pieces and retails for $59.99 and will be available on December 1. It includes minifigures of the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith), the Twelfth Doctor (Peter Capaldi) which is a different version from the LEGO Dimensions one, Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman), a Weeping Angel, and two brick-built Daleks which are also different from the ones in the Dimensions Cyberman Fun Pack.

Update: Head over to the official announcement for more images of the set.

The Art of the Brick: DC Comics Batmobile Revealed

If you followed my coverage of San Diego Comic Con, you would know that there was a panel called DC Comics Meets LEGO Art which featured Nathan Sawaya as a guest. There he talked about his upcoming exhibition called The Art of the Brick: DC Comics and today Comic Book Resources has revealed the LEGO Batmobile that he has created for the exhibit. As you can see, it is a full-size Batmobile which was designed by Jim Lee at SDCC and was created with over 500,000 bricks in less than three months and is 18 foot long.

The tour for The Art of the Brick: DC Comics will open at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, Australia on November 22.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Toys R Us X-Wing Building Event

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Toys R Us X-Wing

Yesterday, I talked about some of the upcoming building events for October. Hoth Bricks has found a new Toys R Us building event for a mini LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens X-Wing Fighter. This event will be held on Saturday, November 14 from 12-2pm. This X-Wing is Poe Dameron’s version and is slightly different from previous X-Wings we’ve seen from Toys R Us. Mark your calendars because I expect this building event to be very popular ahead of the release of The Force Awakens in December.

LEGO Ideas Doctor Who (21304) TARDIS Teaser

LEGO Ideas Doctor Who

The LEGO Ideas Facebook Page has posted another teaser with the caption “landing soon” for the LEGO Ideas Doctor Who (21304) set, this time with the TARDIS that we’ll be getting. I’m not sure if the caption means that LEGO will be officially revealing it or if it means that we’ll be seeing it in stores soon. Rumor has it that the set will be a November release which also coincides with the release of the LEGO Dimensions Doctor Who Level Pack (71204). If you look closely, the Police Box sign appears to be printed but it’s hard to tell if it’s printed or stickers. Also notice the hinges on the side which means the TARDIS will be able to open up to show some details of the control room.

Upcoming October 2015 LEGO Building Events

There are couple of upcoming LEGO building events for the month of October at various retailers that you and your kids may be interested in. The first is a Toys R Us event on Saturday, October 17 from 12-2pm. As you can see above, there is a free mini LEGO City Kayak that kids can build and take home. Image via Instagram.

The other building event is at Barnes & Noble. On Saturday, October 10 at 2pm, there is a Star Wars themed event that includes a LEGO make and take project. The build will feature the Millennium Falcon. Space is very limited and sign-ups are required so if you plan on attending this one, call or visit your local B&N to reserve your space.

Of course you have the LEGO Monthly Mini Build Event at LEGO Brand Stores on October 6-7. Hopefully you’ve already signed up for that last month.
