Bricktober Hotel (40141)

HKLUG over on Facebook has posted the official images of the LEGO Toys R Us Bricktober 2015 sets. Like with previous years, the sets will be in a mini-modular type that can connect with each other using TECHNIC pins. This year will again feature four different sets being offered starting in October with purchases of a certain dollar amount, usually at $75 or more. During and after the Bricktober promotion periods, you can also find the sets being sold separately for $19.99 each. Thanks to Lee for the email.

Beyond the Brick BrickCon 2015 Kickstarter Project

Our friends over on Beyond the Brick is known for their interviews of various AFOLs in the community, which I’ve had the honor to be a part of, are planning to go to BrickCon 2015 in Seattle. They haven’t had a chance to make it out there yet and they’re looking for your help to make that a reality. If you haven’t seen it yet, their coverage of BrickWorld Chicago 2015 and BrickFair Virginia 2015 were top notch as usual and they hope BrickCon 2015 will be the same or better.

They’ve set up a Kickstarter with some cool pledge rewards including a digital copy of the BrickCon 2015 DVD at the $15 level and up, custom Smurf minifigures, and custom builds. Plus there are some stretch goals if they make it past their original goal.

Head on over to the Kickstarter project to show your support and if you’re attending BrickCon next month, you might even see yourself in the the DVD when it comes out.

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Bat-Pod (5004590) Parts List & Building Instructions

Back in June, there was a contest by LEGO to giveaway a limited edition LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Bat-Pod (5004590). I was told that winners were sent emails with the tracking number and the sets have already been shipped out. Reddit user uacrobi has already received theirs and they were nice enough to provide a parts list so you can start finding the necessary parts to build your own. They will be providing the building instructions in due time as well. The Bat-Pod (5004590) contains 311 pieces and also includes a very nifty looking box which looks similar to the exclusive sets from San Diego Comic Con except that it’s twice the length. If you’re in need of the parts, head on over to BrickLink to find sellers that have them. Below is the parts list and I’ll do a post of the building instructions when they are available.

Update: As promised, the OP has uploaded the building instructions for the Bat-Pod. The original copy was 100MB but I’ve condensed the file size to less than 20MB without losing quality. You can download it here. Just rotate the PDF clockwise to see it the right way.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Rey’s Speeder (75099) Review

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Rey's Speeder (75099)

In my second review of the LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens sets, I have the smallest set in the initial wave, Rey’s Speeder (75099). We first saw a clear shot of the vehicle in the teaser trailer last year and LEGO has decided to include it in this wave. The set contains 193 pieces and retails for $19.99 which isn’t a bad price point. The contents of the box include two numbered bags and an instruction booklet.

New LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu Interview by TheHDRoom

LEGO Ninjago Season 6 Skybound Flag

One of our readers has recently done an interview for TheHDRoom with the Hageman Brothers regarding things that have happened with LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu and what’s in store for the future. If you remember from San Diego Comic Con, LEGO Ninjago will be returning soon and it hints at something to do with pirates. They have also provided a high resolution image of the pirate flag called the Skybound Flag. Check out the full interview in the link above and thanks to Dan for emailing it in.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Millennium Falcon (75105) Review

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Millennium Falcon (75105)

Last week on Force Friday, LEGO released the new LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens sets to the public. Let’s hit the set reviews off with a bang and do the biggest set in the wave first, the Millennium Falcon (75105). Everyone was excited when the Falcon showed up in the first teaser trailer and we knew it was coming back for Episode VII. Of course, LEGO had to update the 2011 (7965) version so it’ll correspond to the one in the upcoming movie. The new Millennium Falcon (75105) has 1329 pieces and retails for $149.99. There are ten numbered bags, one un-numbered bag of plates, and a bagged instruction booklet with sticker sheet. Be warned, there may be some speculation and minor spoilers in The Force Awakens LEGO set reviews.
