Rumors of LEGO Star Wars Heading to LEGO Dimensions in 2016/2017

Back in June, there was a statement by Disney vice president of production John Vignocchi during E3 about if fans would ever be seeing Star Wars coming to LEGO Dimensions and his answer was pretty much no. However today over on Eurobricks, Sir von Lego, who has been known to have insider information, has reported say that they have heard about LEGO Dimensions Star Wars expansion packs coming in late 2016/early 2017.

If you’ve been following anything Star Wars gaming-related, you would know that Disney will be releasing Star Wars characters as part of their Infinity 3.0 line which was announced back in May. Currently, there will be at least two waves of Star Wars Infinity 3.0 characters released this year but no word on any future expansions beyond that at this time.

Could LEGO and Disney have an agreement in place for Star Wars to come to LEGO Dimensions after 2015? Possibly, considering that the LEGO Star Wars license will be running until at least 2022 and there has been high interest from fans for LEGO Dimensions even before its release. Also keep in mind that Sir von Lego has been true to their word the past few years regarding rumors of future LEGO products so it’s pretty hard going against their word. If this rumor is true, we might hear something official at E3 or San Diego Comic Con in 2016 so stay tuned.

More LEGO Disney Princess Frozen Sets Coming

With the huge popularity of Disney’s Frozen movie in 2013, LEGO released the Elsa’s Sparkling Ice Castle (41062) as part of the LEGO Disney Princess theme late last year/early this year. It has been revealed over on Brickset’s database that there will be two Frozen sets coming out in the future. One is called Anna & Kristoff’s Sleigh Adventure (41066) which has a recommended retail price of $29.99. As the set name states, it will include Anna and Kristoff and most likely Krisoff’s reindeer companion Sven.

The other set that’s named in the database is the Arendelle Castle Celebration (41068). This is the home of Anna and Elsa but there aren’t any hint to which minifigures/dolls will be included in the set. I would assume that Elsa and Anna in outfits seen during the event and maybe Hans could be included but that’s just my guess. This set has a RRP of $59.99 so I think it’ll have around 400+ pieces. The release date listed on both sets say 2015 and since there was nothing announced/revealed for the summer wave sets, I think they’ll be released around the holiday season.

It’s already been announced that Frozen 2 will be released but won’t be for a while so more sets based on the first movie is a pretty good move since kids are still into the movie even after two years and the first set was extremely popular during the holiday season last year. I know that the movie is one of my niece’s favorite movies to … Continue

Watch the LEGO Ninjago Season 6 SDCC 2015 Exclusive Clip

LEGO Ninjago SDCC 2015 Panel

For those who have been wanting to see the exclusive Season 6 clip of LEGO Ninjago from San Diego Comic Con 2015, LEGO has upload that particular clip to YouTube as an unlisted video. I’ve been asked many questions about the panel on social media about the video and now you can see it for yourself.

The video doesn’t show much but as you can see from the clip below, the Ninjas are now wanted by the police and are on the run. There were also subtle hints after the panel that next season will have Pirates included as well.

Paul Lee Creates LEGO Movie Posters for Brick Fiesta 2015 Attendees

Back to the Future

Brick Fiesta 2015 started a few days ago and one of the perks for registering as an AFOL is some of the cool swag you get. Artist Paul Lee has created some very cool classic movie posters as LEGO sticker versions that can fit into the LEGO Creator Palace Cinema (10232)icon. These posters include Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Blade Runner, Jaws, Amélie, and Jurassic World.

Different LEGO conventions have different swag given out sometimes and most of the time, you never know what you’re going to get. If you haven’t been to a convention as a registered attendee, you should make the effort to go to at least one so see all the fun stuff that you normally wouldn’t see on public days. Check out all of Paul’s other posters below.

LEGO Star Wars Small Scenes from a Big Galaxy by Vesa Lehtimäki (Avanaut)

LEGO Star Wars Small Scenes from a Big Galaxy

Back in March, I reported on a few upcoming LEGO DK books that will be released late this year. One of these books by Finnish LEGO photographer Vesa Lehtimäki, aka Avanaut, was tentatively called LEGO Star Wars: Through a Lens but the finalized title of the book is called LEGO Star Wars: Small Scenes from a Big Galaxy. It’ll retail for $24.99 and has 176 pages and will be released on November 10.

If you’re into LEGO photography, you’ve probably heard of Avanaut’s work as it has also been used in the LEGO The Hobbit set promotions. I think LEGO Star Wars Small Scenes from a Big Galaxy will make a very nice coffee table book as it can show off what a person with a camera and LEGO can do with some imagination. Obviously, Avanaut is just a one person in the popular LEGO photography community and this book may be a stepping stone to introduce more people into the hobby.

LEGO® Star Wars® sets and minifigures come to life in this beautiful photography book.

Created by Finnish photographer Vesa Lehtimäki using his son’s favorite toys, the book features painstaking recreations of classic movie moments and hilarious new takes on fan-favorite characters and themes. Informative captions give technical details for each scene, while anecdotes from Lehtimäki offer background insights to his creative process.

LEGO Star Wars Small Scenes from a Big Galaxy is a breathtaking new look at a timeless icon that allows fans to see their favorite minifigures from the classic saga
