LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Battle Figures Stormtrooper Revealed

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Stormtrooper

Entertainment Weekly has given our first look at the new LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Buildable Battle Figures Stormtrooper. This version of the Stormtrooper is the new First Order variant that will be seen in the upcoming Star Wars movie.

The set will consist of 81 pieces and stand 9 inches tall but no mention of the pricing. It’ll be available on January 1, 2016 but you can get your first close up look at it in next month’s San Diego Comic Con. I’ll be there when it is shown off to the public so you can be sure that I’ll be taking lots of pictures of it from different angles.

A LEGO Brickumentary Non-Spoiler Review

I was recently invited to watch a special screening for A LEGO Brickumentary which will be hitting theaters on July 31, 2015. I won’t talk too much about it but if you’re a fan of LEGO, this documentary is a definite must watch movie. Without spoiling too much, it takes you through the company’s history and its impact on the worldwide culture. Jason Bateman did a great job in narrating it which includes some humor as well. There are also plenty of interviews and stories about different AFOLs whom you may heard of like Jamie Berard, Alice Finch, Nathan Sawaya, and many more. It’s was cool to see some personal friends in the movie as well like Joe Meno and Tommy Williamson.

A LEGO Brickumentary was initially shown at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2014 and it was well received by critics and the movie was eventually picked up by RADiUS-TWC. I’d like to thank Liza from MPRM for reaching out and allowing me to watch the advance screening of the movie. Again, A LEGO Brickumentary will be in theaters on July 31. Check out the trailer below if you haven’t seen it yet.

LEGO Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Sets Coming in 2016

LEGO Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Today is like an awesome day for LEGO Super Hero fans. Earlier today, it was announced that LEGO would be a licensing partner for next year’s Captain America: Civil War. Shortly after that, LEGO gave everyone a teaser for the LEGO Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice sets coming in 2016. Obviously, we don’t know what the sets will be about but I sure hope that the new Batmobile will be in one of the sets. Stay tuned for more details about the LEGO Bamtan v Superman sets as we get closer to 2016.

LEGO Captain America: Civil War License Announced

This is breaking news that will make LEGO fans very happy. Variety is reporting that Marvel has announced their licensing partners for next year’s Captain America: Civil War and LEGO will be a part of it which means that we’ll be getting sets for the movie next year in the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes line. Building off the success of the Avengers: Age of Ultron merchandise, Marvel and Disney are hoping that Civil War will also continue that trend.

The article does mention that the campaign will feature a number of newer characters including War Machine, Falcon, Vision, Black Widow, and Black Panther. We’ve already seen a few iterations of these characters as minifigures but hopefully we’ll see some more being introduced.

Products will be hitting store shelves eight weeks before the May 6 opening so that gives us a timeframe of when we should be expecting to see the new LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Captain America: Civil War sets. I’m going to guess that it’ll be around March or April.

What do you guys think of this news that was kind of expected given that LEGO tends to produce sets based on the Marvel movies? Which minifigures are you hoping to see be included in the sets?

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 14 (71010) Rumored Lineup

Back in January, I reported on some rumors surrounding the Series 14 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71010) in which the theme would about Monsters. Today, the sleuths over on Eurobricks has found a list of potential characters from a Czech website. They’ve been collectively translating the list but some minifigures are harder to translate than others and may sound weird. Keep in mind that this isn’t an official list so don’t get your hopes up too much.

Mad Scientist
The Fly
Crazy Witch
Gargoyle
Rocker Monster
Lady Vampire/Spider Lady
Grim Reaper
Specter/Ghost/Phantom/Spirit
Skeleton Guy/Skeleton
Bigfoot
Tiger Woman
Werewolf
Zombie Pirate Captain
Zombie Cheerleader
Zombie Businessman
Plant Monster/Man-eating Plant

I believe Series 14 will be released this fall so if the trend continues like last year, they could be officially be revealed around San Diego Comic Con time like last year with Series 12 (71007). Stay tuned for updates as they come.

Medieval LEGO
A History Book of Epic Proportions

San Francisco, CA (June 9, 2015) — Medieval history is undeniably awesome. Bloody battles, deposed kings, crusading knights, powerful matriarchs, and righteous warriors. But now—history is adorable too.

Through the improbable pairing of LEGO artists and world-renowned scholars, Medieval LEGO (No Starch Press, September 2015, $14.95) takes the reader on a miniature quest through medieval England. Fifteen-year-old author Greyson Beights brings together this unlikely team to depict the era of dire warfare, strategic marriage, endless intrigue, terrible famine, and deadly plague.

From the Norman Conquest to the Battle of Bosworth Field, each historical event is immortalized in a LEGO tableau and concisely explained by a world-class historian. Professor Ralph Griffiths chronicles the Wars of the Roses; Professor Stephen Knight discusses the folklore of Robin Hood; Professor Robert Bartlett describes the kidnapping and ransom of King Richard the Lionheart; and Dr. Anne Lawrence-Mathers muses on Matthew Paris, the monk who spoke his mind.

“Medieval LEGO is a must-have for all LEGO fans. But it’s perfect reading for anyone who wants
