LEGO Store Exclusive 2014 Holiday VIP Shopping Event

LEGO Store Exclusive Holiday 2014 VIP Shopping Event

The invitations for the LEGO Store Exclusive Holiday 2014 VIP Shopping Event have started to be sent out to eligible LEGO VIP members. The invitation-only VIP shopping event will be held on November 22nd at 9:00am and it allows guests to take advantage of some special holiday offers ahead of Black/”Brick” Friday weekend.

Last year, there were some freebies including free Holiday Pick-A-Brick box, a poster, and a bracelet. There were also peel-off cards to reveal a special offer during the event such as a free set, keychain, or a shopping spree. I can’t confirm if LEGO will be doing the same thing for this year or not.

From what I’ve heard, the LEGO VIP members who have spent a certain amount during a period of time were invited in the shopping event. There are some restrictions to the event like a $5000 limit and no more than five of any single set may be purchased.

Did any of you guys get invited to the 2014 LEGO Shopping Event too?

Another LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 13 (71008) List?

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 13 (71008) - Unicorn?

Robert8 on Eurobricks has revealed the list for the Series 13 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71008) which comes from a German toy shop. This list does confirm some of the images that we reported on earlier today of the Unicorn Girl and Snake Charmer.

From the looks of the list, there are a few minifigures that are rehashes or updates of previous series. Keep in mind that the names are loosely translated from German so they may be different when the official names come out. What do you guys think of this list of minifigures in Series 13?

Galaxy Trooper
Alien Trooper
Evil Wizard
King
Goblin
Lady Cyclops
Snake Charmer
Paleontologist
Carpenter
Hot Dog Guy
Sheriff
Samurai
Disco Diva
Unicorn Girl
Fencer
Egyptian Warrior

More LEGO Ideas Research Institute (21110) Sets in the Works

LEGO Ideas Research Institute (21110)

It looks like LEGO is working on a plan to make more of the wildly popular LEGO Ideas Research Institute (21110) set. Over on Shop@Homeicon, they have updated the status to say:

LEGO® Ideas sets are fan created and limited production. We’re sorry it’s not available – it’s proven to be an overwhelmingly popular set. We’re looking into if we can make more. Check back soon!

From the looks of it, LEGO is trying to get more of the sets produced as the demand was definitely there and it was underestimated on how popular it actually was. Currently, the Research Institute is only available at various LEGO Stores with very limited quantities coming in from time to time. It is also on the secondary market but the price is at least three times the markup so I would suggest holding off purchasing it as there may be more coming out in the future.

Thanks to Dennis for the heads up.

LEGO Club Magazine Shows Off Series 13 Collectible Minifigure (71008)?

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 13 (71008) - Unicorn?

There’s some interesting details coming out of the Twitterverse today. Goggleblox noticed something new on the back of the new LEGO Club Magazine. It must be different from the US version because my copy does not show the image. The image shows what appears to be a person in a Unicorn costume. Could this be one of the characters in the Series 13 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71008)?

As you may have known, costumed characters have always been a staple in the the LEGO Collectible Minifigures line and this looks like proof that another one will be in the upcoming series. The Unicorn that is pictured shows a female in a costume with some star printing on the torso and some hoof printing on the feet. The head is a horse head with a horn piece attached to the top. She is also shown holding some 1×1 round plates which could represent some snow. I’m not sure if they will be included with the minifigure or not.

What do you guys think of having an Unicorn as one of the Series 13 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71008)?
