LEGO Toys R Us Super 2 Day Sale

Starting today, Toys R Us is having a 2 day sale on select LEGO products. The first deal is a 2 for $5 on the Series 12 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71007). Basically you are saving $3 for every two that you buy which is a pretty good deal considering that they go for $3.99 each. This is an in-store only offer. As you can see from the image above, TRU stores are stocking a whole lot of them. I can personally say that I put out six brand new boxes so if you’re in San Diego and are still looking for them, the La Mesa TRU has them.

The other notable LEGO sale is $15 off for select LEGO Lord of the Rings and LEGO The Hobbit sets including the Lake-town Chase (79013), An Unexpected Gathering (79003), Pirate Ship Ambush (79008), and Battle at the Black Gate (79007). These are pretty good deals for sets that are soon to be retired. This offer is valid for online and in stores.

Thanks to Stephen for the heads up.

LEGO 2014 Employee Gift Revealed: LEGO HUB Birds (4002014)

LEGO HUB Birds (4002014)

If you don’t know, people who are lucky enough to work at LEGO are able to get some snazzy gifts that are not available to anyone else unless you find them on the secondary market. Brickset has uncovered the 2014 LEGO employee gift which has already shown up on German eBay, the LEGO HUB Birds (4002014). This 487 piece set features five different birds including a robin, crane, swan, eagle, and another bird that I can’t identify. This set would go great with the upcoming LEGO Ideas Birds (21301)icon set which will be available to everyone on January 1st. I’m also curious to what LEGO HUB is about. If you’re a LEGO employee, please comment below if you know what LEGO HUB is.

Update: The Hubs are the different LEGO offices throughout the world and the birds represent the national birds of each country: Robin (UK), Crane (China), Swan (Denmark), Eagle (USA), and Crimson Sunbird (Singapore).

LEGO The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart Will Be Available in April 2015

A few days ago, we reported that a peculiar product listing on SpeelGoed NL had the set number 71016 which would be released in August 2015. It was rumored to be the LEGO The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart which we first talked about back in October.

I now have information that the set number is indeed correct but the release date is different. A reader by the name of Steve has said that LEGO VIP members will be able to purchase the Kwik-E-Mart early on April 15-30 which means that it will be available to the general public on May 1st.

There are no details other than that but at least we know that we can get our hands on it a few months earlier than what was reported a few days ago. Stay tuned as we get closer to the release date with information about piece count, pricing, and images of the LEGO The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart (71016).

LEGO Legends of Chima Iceklaw’s Mech Polybag (30256) Found

LEGO Legends of Chima Iceklaw's Mech (30256)

There is another 2015 LEGO polybag that has shown up on LEGO’s servers and this one is from LEGO Legends of Chima called Iceklaw’s Mech (30256). The Ice Bear tribe is a new tribe being introduced in next year’s sets and it looks like Iceklaw will be exclusive to the polybag so far. The polybag itself contains 39 pieces and features a cool looking mech. There’s no word on how it will be distributed at this time. We’ll let you know if it starts to show up in stores.

Update: People have been commenting that they are available at Target for $3.99 each.
