Brickipedia Announces 2014 Comic-Con Contest

It seems like there are contests going left and right lately in the LEGO community and that’s not a bad thing at all! With San Diego Comic Con 2014 coming up, Brickipedia has announced their first ever public contest and you can win some very cool prizes. All you have to do to enter is to build an original battle machine using LEGO elements found in the same theme including Star Wars, Super Heroes (DC Universe/Comics and/or Marvel), and Middle-Earth (The Lord of the Rings and/or The Hobbit). The prizes for each category are as follows:

Best Star Wars MOC: B-wing (75050)
Best Super Heroes MOC: Knowhere Escape Mission (76020)
Best Middle-Earth MOC: Mirkwood Elf Army (79012)

Head over to Brickipedia to read all the contest rules and to enter. The contest runs until July 27 23:59 (UTC) so you have about a week and half to get working on your MOCs. Good luck!

LEGO Legends of Chima DVD Contest Winners

LEGO Legends of Chima: CHI, Tribes, and Betrayals DVD

A few weeks ago, we did a review of the LEGO Legends of Chima: CHI, Tribes, and Betrayals DVD and also ran a contest to give away 5 copies courtesy of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The contest is finally over and we had over 900 entries. The winners are, in no particular order:

Joshua Varga
Tracy Martinez
Alexy Howey
David Kieffer
Michelle Quintanilla
George Barnick

I’ve already emailed the winners and they have 3 business days to reply. If I don’t hear anything by then, I’ll have to choose some new winner(s). Thank you to everyone who participated and also to Warner Bros. Home Entertainment for hosting the giveaway. If you want your copy of LEGO Legends of Chima: CHI, Tribes, and Betrayals, the DVD is now available on Amazon.

Also remember that we have another contest going for the LEGO Ideas Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (21108) and there’s still time to enter.… Continue

Adam West Announced for LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham - Adam West

TT Games has announced that Adam West will be voicing at least one character in LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. Back in E3 2014, we reported that TT Games Game Director Arthur Parsons mentioned that there will be some famous voice actors and I threw out a guess that the original Caped Crusader would be in the game. Well I guess I was right.

As we mentioned last week, TT Games will be at San Diego Comic Con 2014 to present some exclusive gameplay, character reveals, and other special announcements. I’m going to throw out another guess that Mr. Adam West will be making a surprise appearance during the panel as well. With the including of Adam West in the game, you can expect some hilarious dialogue on top of the humor that will already be in the game. Get hyped if you’re already not. Also make sure to follow all of our SDCC 2014 coverage here to get updates of all that will be happening at the convention.

Update: It’s been confirmed that Adam West will be at the LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham panel on Sunday, July 27, in Room 6BCF at 1:00 p.m.

Brick-A-Pic Project Needs Your Help on KickStarter

I was contacted by Jake from Brick-A-Pic who is spearheading his LEGO KickStarter project. Brick-A-Pic is a website that converts your photos, logos, and other images into LEGO mosaics.

LEGO mosaics are a popular form of artwork in the LEGO community and Brick-A-Pic makes that process of creating one a little easier. They currently have a software that you can demo to give you an idea of how Brick-A-Pic works. One cool thing about the project is that, they also provide you physical LEGO bricks along with the plans and instructions.

Check out the video below for more details and test out the demo on the website to get a feel of how it works. The goal is to get $50,000 in a month so help spread the word.

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Plastic Man Pre-Order Bonus

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham - Plastic Man Exclusive Minifigure

Game Informer has revealed a list of pre-order bonuses for the upcoming LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. There are different exclusives for various retailers but I’m guessing that GameStop will be having the best exclusive and is the clear winner of the bonuses. As you can see from the image above, GameStop will have a Plastic Man minifigure for pre-ordering the game! I was hoping for the reveal at LEGO Batman 3 panel at San Diego Comic Con 2014 but I guess the cat’s out of the bag now.

Amazon – LEGO Batgirl Keychain
Best Buy – LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham Digital Comic Book by Comixology
Target – LEGO Batwing Polybag (30301)
Toys R Us – LEGO The Joker Keychain
Walmart – LEGO Tumbler Polybag (30300)

We’ve also already reported that EB Games Australia will also be giving away the Tumbler polybag. There’s no word at this time on what the pre-order exclusives for other countries are. Alas, we’re still waiting for Green Lantern to show up some day. What are your thoughts about getting a Plastic Man minifigure? Let us know in the comments below.
