The LEGO Movie Learning Event at Barnes & Noble Stores

The LEGO Movie Barnes & Noble Learning Event

Barnes & Noble stores throughout the US will be holding a LEGO Movie Learning Event on Saturday January 25th as they count down to the movie premiere next month. The special children’s event will have hands-on LEGO activities for kids to enjoy as well as surprises for everyone who attends. Not sure what kind of giveaways the stores will be having but we’ll have more information as they become available. Check your nearest store for more details.

Update: Barnes & Noble has given some details of the event. Thanks for Gloria for the heads up.

Join us in stores for the “Countdown to the Movie” event on Saturday, January 25, where you (and your kids and spouses) will learn about the movie with fun and engaging activities centered around movie facts, movie music, and a screening of the official trailer for The LEGO Movie. Guests will also receive The LEGO Movie mini posters, compliments of Warner Brothers. Space is limited to 50 participants per store, so contact your store now to secure your spot!

The kickoff party will have you all set to see the film in February, and then we’ll invite you back for another free, in-store LEGO event on March 1, with tie-in toys, games, and books.

The LEGO Movie: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Pre-Order on Amazon

The LEGO Movie: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

The official The LEGO Movie: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack is now available for pre-order on Amazon. All the music you’ll be hearing in the movie will be available as a track on this CD. The main theme song that you’ve been hearing in the trailers, “Everything Is AWESOME!!!,” by Tegan and Sara featuring The Lonely Island will also be on the soundtrack including a few other versions of the song by various artists. The CD will be released on February 11th and I’m pretty sure it will eventually be available for digital download as well.

Art of Craft Featuring Brick Artist Nathan Sawaya

Nathan Sawaya, known for his LEGO sculpture art, has partnered up with Art of Craft to bring you some products featuring Nathan’s work with some of the proceeds going to Art Revolution, a cause to help kids get art supplies and art education back into schools.

There are nine limited edition t-shirts that are available to purchase as well as his book, The Art of Nathan Sawaya. What’s also cool is that Nathan has created 12 exclusive limited edition Hugman sculptures for the cause. These sculptures will be personally signed by Nathan and shipped in 1-3 weeks.

10% of each t-shirt sold and 50% of each Hugman sold will go to Nathan’s personal charity, Art Revolution. If you want to own some of Nathan’s work and help a great cause, check out everything Art of Craft has to offer.

The LEGO Movie Website Updated

The LEGO Movie Site

The official LEGO Movie website has been updated a lot since I last time I’ve visited. There are now a lot more things to do on there including new games, downloads, and interactive activities.

Last month, we only had one game called Brick Bust. There are now a number of new games that you can play including ones called “Get Dressed,” “Batman’s First Try,” “Submarine,” “Scramble,” and “Sink Hole.” There’s also on called “Game Builder” where you can either play games on levels that other players built or you can create your own that level for others to play on. In addition, there is an activity book to download that is filled with various activities.

Get Dressed is a simple game where you match up as many characters as possible before time runs out.

Batman’s First Try lets you play as Batman and you have to hit as many red buttons before the timer hits zero.

Submarine is a game where you have to put the pieces in the right spots to fill the leaks of the submarine to save the heroes from drowning.

Scramble is a puzzle game where you have to solve each puzzle in as few moves as possible.

Sink Hole is a game where you use the mouse to help guide Emmet down the sink hole and avoid the pipes.

In addition to all the games you can play on the site, there is also the SigFig Creator where you can create your own minifigure of yourself. Now you can use … Continue
