LEGO Star Wars 2014 Final Set Images Revealed

LEGO Star Wars Coruscant Police Gunship (75046)

The official images of the final two 2014 LEGO Star Wars sets have been revealed by Brickshop Holland, the Coruscant Police Gunship (75046) and the Droid Tri-Fighter (75044). The Coruscant Police Gunship was seen in the last episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars season 5 and includes 4 minifigures: Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker, and two Shock Troopers. The Droid Tri-Fighter is a remake of the 2014 version (8086) and includes 4 minifigures as well: Chancellor Palpatine, Security Battle Droid, Battle Droid, and Buzz Droid.

The official images of the LEGO Star Wars Microfighters have surfaced courtesy of Brickshop Holland. These new “chibi-style” vehicles are set to replace the current LEGO Star Wars Planet sets. Each set has their own pilot minifigure to sit atop of the vehicle. The Microfighters sets are tentatively priced at $9.99 each and will be available late 2013/early 2014.

Update: Bol.com has images of the back of the boxes. The only one missing is the TIE Interceptor.

LEGO CUUSOO The Adventure Time Project Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Adventure Time Project by jazlecraz now becomes the latest project to hit 10,000 supporters on LEGO CUUSOO. The set features a micro-scale Tree Fort and includes various notable characters of the show such as Finn, Jake, BMO, Ice King, Princess Bubblegum and Marceline. If you haven’t heard of Adventure Time, it is an animated TV series that takes you through the adventures of Finn and Jake. The show does feature a little bit of controversy but it is geared towards kids. Whether it is suitable for LEGO’s core audience and guidelines, that is up for the the LEGO Jury to decide in the Winter 2013 Review Stage. Congratulations to jazlecraz for the achievement! Our team is looking forward to evaluating this project as a potential LEGO set.

What happens now?
This project moves from the Idea stage to the Review stage. A “LEGO Review Board” composed of designers, product managers, and other key team members will examine the idea. We’ll build concept models and determine if the concept meets our high standards for what it takes to be a LEGO product, including playability, safety, and fit with the LEGO brand. Every LEGO product goes through a process like this and must meet the same standards.

LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary

Dorling Kindersley (DK) has released their 2014 Summer Trade Catalog which showcases some of the LEGO books that will be released. Some notable ones are the high quality LEGO books that DK regularly releases including the ones based on The LEGO Movie.

One of the new DK books that we expect next summer is the LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary: Updated and Expanded. This updated version will have 48 additional pages showing all the latest Star Wars sets. Like with previous versions of the Visual Dictionary, it will include an exclusive minifigure.

LEGO Legends of Chima also gets their own encyclopedia called The LEGO Legends of Chima: The Secret History. The book talks about the various characters in the world of Chima as well as the tribes and locations. The book also includes an exclusive minifigure.

There are also a couple of LEGO DK Ultimate Factivity Collection books being released next summer including Legends of Chima and City. These books will have various facts and information about the themes as well as fun activities to do. The Factivity books also have more than 500 stickers.

LEGO Friends will also get their own Character Encyclopedia in 2014. The book will have various facts about the characters of Heartlake City as well as the Friends sets. The Character Encyclopedia will include an exclusive mini-doll.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a cool little infographic for the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes video game. It highlights some neat facts about various characters in the game. Did you even wonder how long it would take Howard the Duck to swim across Central Park Lake or how long it takes Iron Man to fly across Manhattan? Well this infographic will tell exactly how long it would take to accomplish those tasks.

We’ve played the game and have thoroughly enjoyed it so far. We’ve done a review for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes for the Playstation 3 version. We also did a handy guide on how to get the Deadpool Red Bricks if you need help finding them.
