The Xbox Marketplace has revealed a couple of new screenshots of The LEGO Movie video game. These new shots show the heroes in what looks to be the stage where the Cloud Cuckoo Palace (70803) is located. The other image shows Wyldstyle riding her dragster from the Super Cycle Chase (70808). The game is now available for pre-order on Gamestop. For pre-ordering at Gamestop, you will get an exclusive Western Emmet minifigure. You can also pre-order on Amazon
The LEGO Bird Project by Thomas Poulsom, aka DeTomaso, is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO CUUSOO. It is the first project to qualify for the revised review stage. The project was originally a series of birds but had to be revised due to the new CUUSOO guidelines. The project now focuses on a couple of very recognizable birds and DeTomaso hopes that they are an inspiration to both kids and adults. Congratulations on reaching 10,000 supporters for the LEGO Bird Project. It’s been quite the journey, are your arms wings tired yet?
Thanks for focusing your project on just a few of your iconic bird designs, to fit within what we’re able to produce as a single LEGO set. We’ll evaluate your models as you have prioritized them, and see what might be possible.
We now officially advance this project to the Review phase.
What happens now?
This project moves from the Idea stage to the Review stage. A “LEGO Review Board” composed of designers, product managers, and other key team members will examine the idea. We’ll build concept models and determine if the concept meets our high standards for what it takes to be a LEGO product. This includes factors such as playability, safety, and fit with the LEGO brand. Every potential LEGO product goes through a process like this
As we mentioned last week, the LEGO The Simpsons House (71006) will be available early for LEGO VIP members tomorrow at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home.
If you’re buying online, I believe it will be available for purchase midnight EST/9:00pm PST. Remember you have to be logged in with your LEGO ID to add it to your shopping cart or else you’ll be seeing it coming soon on February 1st. There is a limit of two one per customer. The set contains 2523 pieces and will retail for $199.99.

ClicTime has launched the US website for the LEGO Watch System. Before, you could only by from the UK version of the site but now you can buy from the US site and save on shipping as well as having faster delivery. Due to overwhelming response of the watches, most styles are out of stock at this time but they will have more stock sometime next week. In the meantime, check out all the different watch styles on their site or below.
From time to time, we have something serious to talk about. There is a new ad campaign from the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women which features Wyldstyle from The LEGO Movie to help promote heart disease awareness.
The campaign was created by Warner Bros., the AMA, and the Ad Council to make people aware that heart disease is the number one killer of women in the country, causing more fatalities than all cancers combined. Elizabeth Banks (Wyldstyle) asks women to “Shout louder, stand stronger, and demand change.”
The LEGO Movie premieres on February 7th which is also the same day as National Wear Red Day and is the 10th anniversary of Go Red For Women. Learn more about the movement at https://www.goredforwomen.org/.

As we all know by now, the protagonist of The LEGO Movie is Emmet who is voiced by Chris Pratt. Xbox is now giving you a chance to ask Chris a question about the movie. There are two ways to ask him your question, either by Facebook or by Twitter. On Facebook, submit your questions in the comment section. On Twitter, submit your tweet with the hashtag #TheLEGOMovieXboxVideo to have a chance for your question to be answered by Chris in a video that will be posted when The LEGO Movie premieres in theaters next month. The deadline to submit your question is January 17th midnight PST.
Today, Warner Bros UK has released a short video of Emmet from The LEGO Movie wishing everyone a Happy Chinese New Year. For 2014, Chinese New Year happens on January 31 and it will be the Year of the Horse although Emmet isn’t quite sure what year of the zodiac it will be. Chinese New Year is not just one day, but fifteen full days of festivities. As a Chinese-American, it’s pretty cool to see LEGO and Warner Bros. acknowledging the significance of the event and our culture. The movie premieres exactly one week after New Years and the companies are doing everything they can to promote it. 恭喜发财 everyone!
