LEGO Star Wars Elite Clone Trooper & Commando Droid Battle Pack (9488) Review

I finally get my hands on the new 2012 LEGO Star Wars sets. The first to be reviewed is the Elite Clone Trooper & Commando Droid Battle Pack. This set was released in January/February 2012. It contains 98 pieces and retails for $12.99 which comes out to a fairly high $0.13/piece. This along with the Endor Rebel Trooper & Imperial Trooper Battle Pack (9489) are the first sets to feature two minifigures from different factions instead of four minifigs from the same faction like in previous battle packs.

LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle (4842) Review

On October 1, 2010, LEGO reintroduced the Harry Potter series releasing six sets with Hogwarts Castle being the largest set. It contains 1290 pieces and retails for $129.99, a nice $0.10/piece which is amazing considering it is a licensed set. There are previous versions of the castle although I will not be comparing them as I do not own any of them. The set will feature four buildings and eleven minifigures and a lot of small details that make the set a must own.

LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle (10212) Review

Around Christmas 2011, I was looking around different sites to see if there were sales going on at that time. To my delight, there was a sale on Amazon.com for the LEGO Star Wars Imperial Shuttle. Not really wanting to spend that much on a LEGO set but it was a deal that I couldn’t pass up. The set includes 2503 pieces and retails for $259.99, which is at $0.09/piece. The bricks come in many bags, and when I say many, I mean many! The bags aren’t numbered but are organized very well. I recommend a big table to spread out the pieces when assembling because there will be at least ten different piles. There are four instruction booklets included in a polybag with a cardboard backing so the booklets wouldn’t get wrinkled. The set was released in September 2010.

LEGO Marvel Superheroes Revealed

LEGO has released images of the Marvel Superheroes Ultrabuilds of the Avengers Captain America, Iron Man, and the Hulk. They are made similar to the Hero Factory series. I must say these are some of the coolest looking figures I’ve seen especially Iron Man. The figures are priced around the same as the DC Universe Ultrabuilds and are expected to be released sometime in 2012.
