LEGO Marvel Thor’s Hammer (76209) Review

On March 1, LEGO will be releasing a new set in what I call the Marvel Artifacts line with Thor’s Hammer (76209). It is the second Marvel object that LEGO has made into a larger scale joining the Infinity Gauntlet (76191) from last year. The set has 979 pieces and will retail for $99.99. The bags are numbered to five and there are also some other bags for the Technic beams and larger rock pieces.

LEGO Sports Games Reported to be Developed by 2K

It has been recently reported by Video Game Chronicle that LEGO has signed a multi-game partnership with 2K for some new LEGO sports games which will include football (soccer) and racing. The game will be developed by Sumo Digital and the game will be followed up with an open-world LEGO racing game that is currently under development at Visual Concepts. The LEGO football game is reported to be released later this year to coincide with the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The LEGO racing game is expected to be released in 2023.

The report also states that there may have been some sort of fallen out with Warner Bros.’ TT Games which has been making LEGO games since 2005 which licensed properties included Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Marvel, and DC. TT Games is said to have one more game beyond LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

LEGO Vespa 125 (10298) Officially Announced

LEGO has revealed a brand new set with the LEGO Vespa 125 (10298). Releasing on March 1, the set has 1,106 pieces and will retail for $99.99/$169.99 AUD/$129.99 CAD/99.99 EUR/89.99 GBP. The set pays tribute to the original Vespa with the pastel blue color scheme.

LEGO Ideas The Opera Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Opera by Jiwoo is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The 2,999 piece build features a modular opera house with two floors. The back is able to open up to reveal the interior of The Opera.

The LEGO Foundation Ready to Donate LEGO MRI Scanners to Hospitals

The LEGO Foundation has announced that it is now ready to donate 600 LEGO MRI Scanners to hospitals worldwide to help children cope with the uncertainty of having an MRI. Radiology departments worldwide encouraged to apply

Billund, Denmark,23 February 2022 – The LEGO Foundation has announced it will donate 600 LEGO® MRI Scanners to hospitals worldwide to help children cope with the uncertainty of having a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan.

What started in 2015 as a passion project for LEGO employee Erik Ullerlund Staehr and Odense University Hospital, Denmark,is now being scaled and piloted with new training material for hospital staff. The team developed the sets as a way to help children navigate the often daunting and intimidating process of having an MRI scan. The sets are designed to help children better collaborate with clinicians and understand what the large and complex MRI machine is all about.

Erik Ullerlund Staehr, Chemical Technician at the LEGO Group said: “I’m extremely proud of this project and the positive impact it’s already had. I’ve seen first-hand how children have responded to these models; making them feel more relaxed and turning an often highly stressful experience into a positive, playful one.
