LEGO VIDIYO Sets Found Early at Meijer

LEGO’s newest theme, LEGO VIDIYO was announced last month but the details for it were lacking and there was no products shown off. The LEGO Shop also doesn’t show much off except for the Llama which seems to be the de facto mascot for the theme.

Instagram user marleylego has found some in their local Meijer store for $20 each and has shown off some of the details of the sets which include the Candy Mermaid Beatbox (43102), Party Llama Beatbox (43105), and Hiphop Robot Beatbox (43107). Note that Meijer does mark their prices up a little on everything so we’ll see if it’s that price. Each set also include 16 printed tiles to use to decorate the set.

LEGO VIDIYO is set to be released on March 1 so we’ll probably start seeing details of the sets in a few days/weeks.

LEGO Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Targa (10295) Owners Pack Cancelled for North America

In just a few days, LEGO will be releasing the LEGO Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Targa (10295) for VIPs and there was supposed to be a limited edition LEGO Porsche Owners Pack when you purchase the set. Unfortunately for those in North America, LEGO has cancelled the promotion due to shipping challenges. I’m not sure what that really means as it wasn’t explained on the LAN but it might be a dealbreaker for those where were thinking of getting the set early.

The Owners Pack (shown above) includes a Porsche wallet along with some prints and a Certificate of Awesomeness. Other parts of the world will still get the promotion when the set launches for VIPs on February 16.

This is a heads up for North America only — the VIP Porsche Owners Pack gift with purchase promotion has been cancelled due to shipping challenges.

VIPs can still order the awesome new Porsche 911 Turbo/Targa set before everyone else.

Building LEGO on First Dates

Today is Valentine’s Day and LEGO has recently released a video showing some strangers going out on their first dates while breaking the ice using the new LEGO Botanical Collection sets. The three couples engage in conversation using the Flower Bouquet (10280) and the Bonsai Tree (10281) that is set in between them. This relieves some of the tension that is inherently set when people go on first dates and it hopefully encourages others to try it when they go on dates.

LEGO has been pushing the LEGO 18+ product strategy a lot since its introduction last year and it has paid off for them as more adults have gotten into building LEGO in recent years. This is evident by the fact that the two sets have been currently out of stock at all retailers after its release last month and are hard pressed to catch any restocks that pop up online.
