LEGO Appoints Colette Burke as New Chief Commercial Officer

LEGO news have been pretty slow for the holidays but it has been recently announced that LEGO has appointed Colette Burke as their new Chief Commercial Officer. At the beginning of the year, Colette will be taking the reigns of the position and will be responsible for LEGO’s global strategy including e-commerce, retailer partnerships, omnichannel development, LEGO Brand Stores, and further expansion into new countries. Before this, Colette was the Vice President Global Sales of Bose.

The LEGO Group appoints Colette Burke as Chief Commercial Officer

BILLUND, December 21, 2020: The LEGO Group today announced the appointment of Colette Burke as Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer effective January 1, 2021.

Colette joins the LEGO Group from consumer electronics company, Bose Corporation, where she was Vice President Global Sales. During her 25-year career at Bose Corporation she has held a wide range of commercial, general management and marketing roles of increasing scope and responsibility at a global, regional and national level, including 19 years in the United States. She began her career as a management consultant in Germany.

Colette will be responsible for the Group’s global commercial strategy including e-commerce, retailer partnerships, omnichannel development, LEGO®-branded retail stores and continued expansion into new countries. Reporting to her will be the Group’s Market Group heads based in Americas, EMEA, Asia Pacific and China and LEGO Retail.

LEGO Harry Potter The Monster Book of Monsters (30628) Confirmed for January 2021 GWP Release

Yesterday I reported that we could soon be seeing the LEGO Harry Potter The Monster Book of Monsters (30628) on the LEGO Shop and at LEGO Brand Stores and I can now confirm that we will indeed be getting next month. I’ve been told it’ll be available all January with purchases of $75 in LEGO Harry Potter products, while supplies last. It’ll be pretty easy to get if you’re planning on getting the new LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Moments sets.

LEGO Ideas Viking Village Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Viking Village by BrickHammer is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The build is based on the actual history of the Vikings and some of the buildings you may find during that time including a blacksmith, main hall, temple, and watch tower. It also proposes three minifigures as well.

LEGO Technic Land Rover Defender (42110) Amazon Sale – December 2020

The LEGO Technic Land Rover Defender (42110) is back on sale again at Amazon for 20% off the regular price. It is now priced at $159.99 which is a savings of $40 and that’s significant deal for a licensed Technic set. The only downside is that it’ll arrive after Christmas. LEGO Harry Potter The Monster Book of Monsters (30628) Coming Soon to LEGO Shop?

For those who weren’t able to get the LEGO Harry Potter The Monster Book of Monsters (30628) from Barnes & Noble last month as part of a GWP or earlier this month by itself, you may have another chance on the LEGO Shop. There is now a product listing for the set which states it is a free item. If I were to guess, it’ll most likely be a promo item some time in January. We’re not sure of the exact date it will launch or the price threshold as the LEGO Store Calendar hasn’t been published yet but we’ll let you know once we have some info.
