LEGO Black Friday/Cyber Monday 2020 Promotions Revealed

LEGO Shop UK has revealed some of this year’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday promotions. Before that, LEGO will have a VIP Weekend in which they will have the same promotions from November 21-22. LEGO Shop US will also have these promotions at different price thresholds which we’ll know about when they update the page over here.

First is the LEGO Charles Dickens Tribute (40410) which you can get with purchases of £150 or more. There is also a free Teal VIP Brick with purchases of £200 or more. You will also get double VIP points on every item as well as sales on select products. LEGO will run the same promotions again a week after from November 27-30 for Black Friday through Cyber Monday.

Update: The US page is now up and the thresholds are $150 for the Charles Dickens set and $200 for the 2×4 teal brick.

LEGO Ghostbusters: Afterlife Poster – Possible GWP Item

LEGO Ghostbusters: Afterlife Poster

The LEGO Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (10274) comes out in a few days and it looks like there will be a gift with purchase item when you buy the set. LEGO has sent over a cool poster featuring the set in the same scene as in the official movie poster. The poster itself is 10×13 and it is made of thicker, high-quality stock. There’s is also a glossy finish on the Ecto-1 while the rest has a matte finish. There’s no word on how to get it but I assume it’ll be given to VIPs you when you buy the Ecto-1 online and at LEGO Stores.

LEGO Lunar New Year 2021 Set Details and Pricing

Last week, LEGO announced some new sets for 2021 that celebrate Chinese culture including some Lunar New Year ones for the Year of the Ox. LEGO has uploaded the product pages to some of these sets on the LEGO Shop and we finally have some details about them.

The Story of Nian (80106) has 1,067 pieces and will retail for $79.99. The larger Spring Lantern Festival (80107) has 1,793 pieces and will retail for $119.99. Both sets will be released on January 10 and are most likely exclusive to the LEGO Shop and LEGO Brand Stores as well as LEGOLAND Discovery Centers.

Story of Nian (80106)

Make Lunar New Year celebrations even more playful for kids as they recreate the Story of Nian with this colorful LEGO® building set (80106). It features a brick-built Asian residence with traditional decorations including buildable fireworks, firecrackers, hanging lanterns and Chun Lian banners, plus 2 cabbage elements and warrior guardian stickers to ward off evil spirits.

For display and role-play fun

The snowy scene is brought to life with a posable Nian creature, a snowman figure and 6minifigures, including grandpa, grandma, 3 children and a person in an ox costume to mark the Year of the Ox. There are also lots of accessory elements for spring-cleaning and telling the legend of Nian in LEGO style.

Celebrate Asian culture

Collectible Traditional Festival LEGO construction toys make wonderful, educational gifts for kids and anyone interested in Asian culture. Great for building and playing with solo or with friends and family, they also

LEGO Masters Officially Renewed for Season 2 on Fox

For those who are fans of LEGO Masters, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the show has been officially renewed for a second season on Fox. Casting for the new season has already started and you can still apply if you like. The production of the show is planned for spring 2021 and will be airing later in the year. Will Arnett will still be the host and executive producer while judges Jamie Berard and Amy Corbett are set to return as well. The winners of Season 1 were Tyler and Amy.

On a side note, I was asked by one of the casting associates to be on the show but I had to politely decline because I’m not in a position to take an extended period of time off.

Rumored Gift with Purchase Set for LEGO Colosseum (10276)

Earlier today, it was revealed there will be an announcement for the new LEGO Colosseum (10276) this week and there’s also rumors of a gift with purchase set with it. I’ve been told by a source that there will be some sort of freebie when you purchase the Colosseum but I’m not sure what it will be at this time.

If you didn’t hear yet, the Colosseum will be the largest set that LEGO has produced with 9,035 pieces. This dwarfs the LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon (75192) by almost 1,500 pieces. I assume the set will be labeled an 18+ set as pretty much a majority of the new sets that have released are 18+. It won’t be long until LEGO test the waters with a 10,000 piece set.
