LEGO Ideas Gravity Falls: The Mystery Shack Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Gravity Falls: The Mystery Shack by TopLego8 is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. This must be a popular topic because this is the second Gravity Falls project to reach the goal in a short amount of time. The build consists of 2,510 pieces and it features the iconic shack from the show and it also proposes eight minifigures.

The project now joins the Boeing 737 Passenger Plane and Colosseum (Architecture Style) as the ones that have reached the Third 2020 Review Stage.

Brick Hound Alerts for LEGO Shop Stock Availability

There’s a new independent service called Brick Hound that sends you text alerts for when items are available again on the LEGO Shop. It checks the status of an item and if it sees a change, it’ll send you an alert. I’ve had a few readers message me about it saying that it works so I’ve signed up for it to test it out and sure enough, it worked on the LEGO Star Wars Bespin Duel (75294). Currently, it only works for the US market and if you don’t want any more alerts, you can also unsubscribe from it as well.

Msg & data rates may apply. Your phone number will only be used to send alerts as requested by you. No other personally identifying information will be collected, and your phone number will not be shared. You may text “STOP” at any time to immediately terminate all text messages.

LEGO Star Wars Bespin Duel (75294) on Backorder Status Again

This will probably be my last time posting this but the LEGO Star Wars Bespin Duel (75294) is now on backorder status again after selling out a few times. I’m not sure how many sets LEGO has produced in total but there seems to be quite a few since they have restocked a few times and I’m not sure how many more times it will be restocked. Orders that are placed today will be shipped by October 8.

LEGO Winter Village Elf Club House (10275) Q&A with Chris McVeigh

The new LEGO Winter Village Elf Club House (10275) was announced yesterday and it was revealed that AFOL Chris McVeigh was the LEGO designer for the set. If you remember, Chris used to create a lot of festive builds and the Elf Club House is the perfect thing for him to design as his very first Winter Village set. LEGO has done a short interview with Chris where he gives some details about the set and what helped him along the way.

Q: What was your inspiration for the LEGO Elf Clubhouse?

I thought it would be great fun to explore the world of Santa’s Elves. Where do they go after a hard day’s work making toys? What do they do for fun? Do they give gifts to each other for Christmas? In terms of architecture, the set was inspired by both alpine chalets and Tudor-style homes, with a dash of Christmas magic for good measure.

Q: What is your favorite element of this set?

The reindeer, which is all-new with this set! I like to call her Brixen.

Q: Are there any Easter eggs or interesting designing anecdotes you can tell us about the set?

Before working for LEGO, I was known for building old computers out of LEGO bricks. So, I thought it would be a fun nod to my past to include a small brick-build computer in this set.

Q: How do you find your inspiration for the holiday sets?

Christmas has always been a special time of year for my family and … Continue
