LEGO Creator Expert Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (10274) Rumored for 2021

There’s a new rumor going around the internet for about a few days about a new LEGO Creator Expert Ghostbusters Ecto-1 (10274) coming out some time in 2021. If you remember late last year, there was another rumor of some Ghostbusters: Afterlife sets that were set to be released this year in conjunction with the movie release but all that got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This rumor, which comes from Eurobricks, says it will retail for $200 and is in the style of the Creator Expert vehicles like the James Bond Aston Martin DB5 (10262) and the Fiat 500 (10271). Note that the Aston Martin was also based on a movie as well. This also means that the Ecto-1 won’t be in minifigure scale which and will probably be in the system sets that were supposed to be out for the new movie.

Again, all rumors are treated as such until LEGO officially announces it or leaked images start showing up online which has been happening a lot for every big release. The image above is not the rumored set but of the LEGO Ideas one that was released a few years ago.

LEGO Sets Not Retiring in 2020

I’ve recently talked about some LEGO sets that are set to be retiring at the end of the year but I’ve also been asked if certain sets will be staying or not. I have some new information about a couple of sets that you don’t have to worry about it going away after 2020. I’ve been told from my source that the LEGO Stranger Things The Upside Down (75810) and The Disney Castle (71040) will not be retired and will be available for the foreseeable future.

Currently The Upside Down is still in stock on LEGO Shop@Home but the Disney Castle has been on backorder status for a while now. Fortunately, LEGO is accepting backorders and it’ll be shipped in 60 days. You can also use the stock check to see if your nearest LEGO Brand Store has it on the shelves.

LEGO Star Wars Battle Packs Ending After 2020?

The LEGO Star Wars Battle Packs have been a staple for the theme for many years but it looks like they might be going away after 2020. For army builders, these were great sets for certain minifigures for a relatively cheap price and they also included some small builds to go along with it.

There’s a new rumor going around on Eurobricks discussing that the Battle Packs may be going away by the end of the year. There’s no concrete evidence showing this is true we’ll hold off on calling it done completely. One theory is that with the release of the 501st Legion Clone Troopers (75280), LEGO might be taking a year off to focus on producing these highly popular and desired minifigures.

Currently, the only two Battle Packs on the market are the Sith Troopers Battle Pack (75266) and the Mandalorian Battle Pack (75267).

LEGO Art Pre-Orders on Amazon

Amazon is currently offering pre-orders for the upcoming LEGO Art sets that are set to be released on September 1. Each of them retails for $119.99 each and they will be released on Amazon on August 28.

Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe (31197)
The Sith (31200)
The Beatles (31198)

For those who don’t know, each set gives you enough pieces to create one piece of art and each of the sets have multiple variations so you’ll have to purchase multiple sets to have the “complete” artwork. If you do plan on getting them, I would highly suggest waiting until they go live on LEGO Shop@Home to earn VIP points unless you don’t have a VIP account. In that case, I would wait until there’s a decent discount on them or if you earn money back on a rewards card.

LEGO Harry Potter Collectible Minifigures Series 2 (71028) First Look

Last week, we reported the rumored lineup for the upcoming LEGO Harry Potter Collectible Minifigures Series 2 (71028) and it looks like we can confirm the characters in the set. • Harry Potter with Advanced Potion-Making
• Albus Dumbledore with Fawkes
• Hermione Granger with Butterbeer
• Ron Weasley with Butterbeer
• Luna Lovegood with a lion hat
• Griphook with Sword of Gryffindor
• Lily Potter with baby Harry
• James Potter with photograph
• Ginny Weasley with a chocolate ice cream
• Fred Weasley with Weasley Joke Box
• George Weasley with Marauder’s Map
• Bellatrix Lestrange in Azkaban outfit
• Kingsley Shacklebolt with broom
• Moaning Myrtle with Tom Riddle’s diary
• Professor Pomona Sprout with mandrake
• Neville Longbottom with Monster Book of Monsters

The LEGO Harry Potter Collectible Minifigures Series 2 (71028) should be available starting in September and we’ll probably see official images of the set in the coming weeks.

LEGO Star Wars Armored Assault Tank (AAT) 75283 Amazon Pre-Order

Another highly anticipated LEGO Star Wars summer 2020 sets that is available for pre-order on Amazon is the Armored Assault Tank (AAT) 75283. Like with the 501st Legion Clone Troopers (75280), it will ship on August 28 which I guess is when Amazon gets their stock. I’m not sure how much pre-orders they are taking, but I assume it won’t be that many for the initial release. The Ahsoka minifigure is the main highlight here as this is the fourth minifigure of her and the first one since 2016.

LEGO Creator Roman Colosseum (10276) Rumored for November Release

There’s a new rumor that’s been floating around for about a week of a new LEGO Creator Landmark set that is said to be coming in November. This set is said to be the Roman Colosseum (10276) and if the rumors are true, it will be the largest set that LEGO has produced coming in at 9,035 pieces.

As we know by now, LEGO loves to throw in teasers here and there including in already released sets. If you seen or have the LEGO Creator Fiat 500 (10271), you’ll notice the painting accessory that comes with the car has the Colosseum in the background. Could LEGO have already been teasing the next Creator landmark set way back in February when the Fiat was announced? We shall see.
