New LEGO Direct-to-Consumer Sets Now Available on Shop@Home

It’s September 18 and that means there are some new LEGO sets available for purchase on Shop@Home. First is the highly anticipated LEGO Creator Gingerbread House (10267) which costs $99.99 for 1,477 pieces. This is a really good deal, in my opinion, and you’ll be able to get 650 VIP points for it.

The other set that is available which isn’t for everyone is the LEGO Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer (75252). It has 4,784 pieces but it sets you back a whopping $699.99. The size of it is impressive but the interior of it is lacking the detail that we thought it would have. The good thing is that you’ll get a cool 4,550 VIP points for it but for a limited time until September 22, you’ll be getting double points for it.

LEGO Overwatch Bastion’s Brick Challenge

Starting today, Blizzard has continued with the promotion of the LEGO Overwatch sets and as a treat, they have also kicked off Bastion’s Brick Challenge. From now until September 30, you can earn some cool LEGO themed rewards for playing Overwatch and watching Twitch streams. For winning nine games in Quick Play, Arcade, or Competitive, you can earn the Legendary Brick Bastion skin in which Bastion is made out of colorful LEGO bricks. Along the way, if you get three wins, you can earn the Brickstion player icon and Brick Ganymede player icon. For six wins, you can get the Bricks Rain From Above Pharah minifigure spray and Reconstruction Mercy minifigure spray.

As with these events, you can also earn brick-themed items in-game by watching various Twitch streamers throughout the event. You can view the full schedule here. For watching two hours, you can get the D.Va spray. For four hours, you’ll earn the Tracer and Widowmaker player icons. For six hours, you get the Genji and Hanzo dragon sprays as well as their player icons. You’ll have to connect your Battle.net account to Twitch to be able to earn these stream rewards.

As for the LEGO Overwatch sets, Blizzard is having sales on the sets and the Blizzard exclusive Omnic Bastion (75987) is currently half off the regular price.

I’ll be online if any of you wants to play to earn the Bastion skin. Feel free to add me at Tormentalous#1173 and request to join my games. I mostly play the Arcade mode but … Continue

LEGO Announces Rebuild The World Campaign

A few days ago, LEGO released a mysterious trailer for something coming soon and today they have announced Rebuild The World. It is essentially a campaign to help nurture the creative skills of the next generation.

THE LEGO GROUP WITH MARK RONSON INSPIRE KIDS TO REBUILD THE WORLD

[Billund, 17 September 2019]: Today, the LEGO Group and musician Mark Ronson launch Rebuild The World, a campaign to help nurture the creative skills of the next generation.

Over 100 children will meet Mark and other inspiring figures, such as 19-year-old David Aguilar, who built several prosthetic arms from LEGO® elements, at the LEGO House, Billund, to explore the infinite potential of creativity. Their imaginations will also be fired up in a series of workshops, where they’ll be challenged to rebuild the world they see around them.

“My whole career has been about working with brilliant, creative people and seeing where our imaginations take us. Rebuild The World, is a wonderful opportunity to help inspire the next generation of creators who will come up with their own ideas to shape the future of everything from the way we live to the music we listen to,” explains Mark Ronson.

The LEGO Group believes that every child is born with incredible creative problem-solving capabilities, but we need to act now to nurture that creativity so that it can become a lifelong skill, as the future depends on it.

Inspiring creativity is more critical and urgent than ever. The World Economic Forum Future of Jobs Report places creative problem solving in

LEGO Ideas Project Submission Update

Last week LEGO announced some new updates to LEGO Ideas. Some of the updates are smaller quality of life ones like the product ideas statistics in which you can see how many supporters your project gets per day. Also projects now require you to add at least one tag to improve categorization and discoverability of the submission.

The main update is the Product Idea Submit Flow. As we know by now, lots of projects and ideas may be tied to a certain intellectual property and requires LEGO to go out and try to get a certain license to be able to produce the set. LEGO has changed how you are able to submit a project if it is based on a certain IP. Now when you try to submit a project, you are asked if it is based on an IP. If it is based on something, a dropdown menu will list if it is allowed or not. If it is not allowed, you won’t be able to proceed but if it is allowed, you can continue on to the next step. They have given a quick explanation of how they evaluate what IPs are good to use or not.

-Overlap with currently commercialised LEGO products (i.e. Star Wars, Ferrari, etc)
-Have already been commercialised through LEGO Ideas (i.e. Beatles Yellow Submarine, Voltron, etc)
-Don’t fit the LEGO Brand (i.e. Game of Thrones or Call of Duty, etc)
-Contain a known license conflict that prevent us from commercialising the IP (i.e. Monopoly, Transformers, etc)
