Amazon is back with another round of sales for The LEGO Movie 2 Welcome to Apocalypseburg! (70840). It is discounted 15% or $44.81 off which marks it down to only $255.18. As I have said many times before, direct-to-consumer sets usually aren’t discounted that much and when you find a deal, it is best to jump on it as it only lasts a very short time.
A few days ago, I reported that the LEGO Hidden Side Newbury’s Juice Bar (40336) promotional set will be coming in September but didn’t know the criteria for getting it. I have just gotten word that it will be a gift-with-purchase set of $50 or more in general and not just limited to the Hidden Side sets.
This is actually good because a lot of you have already bought the Hidden Side sets and don’t have to buy something you already have. It would have been better if this promo was ran during the launch of the sets but I’m not a marketing person. The promotional period is reported to be from September 2-15 but we’ll confirm all this information when the September 2019 Store Calendar is available next week.
Earlier this week, I reported that two projects that reached the Second 2019 Review Stage have archived for unknown reasons. These two projects are Gravity Falls and Japanese Tea Garden. LEGO has released a statement on the LEGO Ambassador Network regarding this and they said,
Although questions haven’t directly come in via LAN, I can understand there are some questions about the recent archival of the two LEGO Ideas 10K Club submissions Japanese Tea Gardens and Gravity Falls Mystery Shack.
It’s incredibly rare that we make the decision to remove submissions that have achieved the 10,000 supporter milestone and to not allow them through to the review stage. Unfortunately, after a thorough evaluation we made the tough decision (because we can clearly see that both models are incredibly well built) that in these two cases we had to do this as the submissions did not comply with our Terms of Service. We couldn’t, in respect to the LEGO Ideas community, move the submissions into the review stage as well as award prizes, whether the main prize or the consolation prize, to the members in question.
Although we know that you’re all very interested in knowing the specific underlying reasons for why we decided to archive them, this is not information that I can share with you out of respect for the privacy of the members in question. Should the members in question choose to share the reason for the archival of their submissions, then they are welcome to do so.
Unfortunately, the statement didn’t give … Continue
Here’s a good deal on Amazon to start your day off with. The LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter (75218) is currently 31% off the regular price and it now sits at $54.99. This isn’t as good as the one from last month but still decent enough to warrant a look at if you want to build a fleet of X-Wings.
The holiday season is just around the corner and it looks like there’s an image of one of the new ornaments LEGO will be releasing this year. The first one that has been revealed is the Toy Soldier (853907) which has 43 pieces and will retail for $7.99. It will be available starting on October 1.
Adorn your Christmas tree with this delightful LEGO® Iconic 853907 Toy Soldier Ornament. Build the toy soldier and wrapped gifts, mount them on the round baseplate and place them inside the bauble. Then hang it with the decorative red ribbon to bring a touch of festive LEGO joy to your Christmas tree.

Although it is pretty late, LEGO has finally released the designer video for the LEGO Creator Harley Davidson Fat Boy (10269). Designers Mike Psiaki and Carl Merriam talk about some of the details for the Fat Boy including some of the meanings of the stickers that are in the set. Element designer Mani Zamani was also brought in the explain the new rims and tires. This is probably one of the more entertaining designer videos in a while. The Harley Davidson Fat Boy is now available for purchase on LEGO Shop@Home for 99.99.
