Is the LEGO Black VIP Card Promotion Continuing?

LEGO Black VIP Card

The last time I’ve talked about the LEGO Black VIP card was a few weeks ago where I stated that a new batch of cards are being created due to a glitch in the system and now, there’s a new revelation about how to acquire the card. The original deadline to get the card was December 31, 2017 so technically you can’t get it anymore even if you have purchased the set this year but that could be changing according some information that I’ve received.

A reader named Tim purchased the UCS Falcon this past weekend at a New York LEGO Brand Store and the manager there told him that LEGO would be continuing the Black VIP card promotion that ended last year. Tim was then told to verify his LEGO VIP address because he’ll also be getting it as well even though the deadline has passed.

I’m not sure if this is just an isolated incident or if LEGO is actually continuing the Black VIP card promotion. I would suggest asking LEGO customer service before making your purchase to see if they are actually continuing it since the webpage about it still has the old information. Even if you’ve made a purchase of the Falcon this year, it wouldn’t hurt to ask customer service to see what’s going on.

Let us know in the comments below if you’ve had the same situation and also have been told that the Black VIP card promotion would be continuing.

LEGO Star Wars Ahch-To Island Training (75200) Designer Video

In something slightly unusual for LEGO to do, they have recently released a designer video for the LEGO Star Wars Ahch-To Island Training (75200). This is different because it is not a direct-to-consumer set that usually does it for but just a simple set that you get purchase at any retailer. The video also goes back to the old style where the designer, César, talks more about the set itself and its play features. This is something that fans have missed on the newer designer videos. Hopefully, LEGO continues to do designer videos for these smaller sets like this in the future. I’ve recently done a review of this set if you want to check it out as well.

LEGO Classic 60th Anniversary Bricks on a Roll (10715) Now Available at Walmart

LEGO Classic Bricks on a Roll (10715)

You can now purchase the limited edition 60th anniversary LEGO Classic Bricks on a Roll (10715) at Walmart.com. For me it says, that I can also do a store pickup on 1/31 but that varies from location to location. This is the item that you will need to purchase to redeem the free collectible booklet and not to be confused with the regular yellow box version of the set. You have from now until 2/28 to purchase the set to be eligible for the booklet.

I’ve already done a review of the set if you want to check it out. Thanks to Brandon for the heads up.

LEGO Classic 60th Anniversary Collectible Booklet Clarification

LEGO Classic 60th Anniversary Collectible Booklet

It looks like there is some clearer information about the limited edition LEGO Classic 60th Anniversary Collectible Booklet that you will be able to redeem at Walmart. According to the redeem page that just went live, it looks like you’ll have to purchase the vintage version of Bricks on a Roll (10715) set at Walmart stores, Walmart.com, or Jet.com between 1/26-2/28 and upload a photo of your receipt. You’ll have until 3/9 to do that or while supplies last. There are 15,000 booklets available which will be sent out 7-10 business days after your receipt submission has been processed.

Currently, the set is not available online yet and the employees at the store do not know about it yet either. I’ve been told that they might be available starting on Monday but we’ll see. I’ll be heading to my closest store to see if they’re available and report back after. If not, I’ll keep tabs for the online set and let you know when that goes live.

LEGO Ideas Ship in a Bottle (21313) Unboxing

LEGO Ideas Ship in a Bottle (21313)

The LEGO Ideas Ship in a Bottle (21313) will be released later this week unless you were able to get it early yesterday at the Fashion Place LEGO Store signing event. LEGO was kind enough to send us an early copy of the set and here’s a short unboxing of it since many of you are curious of what it consists of.

The packaging is nicely detailed with a very nautical design. On the side of the box, there’s a large kraken chasing down the ship in the bottle. Like with the packaging for the recent previous LEGO Ideas sets, the box has the lift up flap to reveal the contents.

When you open up the box, you are greeted with seven bags numbered 1-4 along with four large trans-clear window pieces and the instruction booklet. As far as I remember, this is the second set that I’ve personally build that had the exact same parts in same bags, referring to the 1×1 trans-blue studs.

LEGO Ideas Ship in a Bottle (21313) Designer Video

LEGO has finally released the designer video for the LEGO Ideas Ship in a Bottle (21313) which is set to be released later this week. In the video LEGO designer Thiago Catarino talks about how he went from Jacob Sadovich’s original design on the LEGO Ideas project to the official set. Graphic designer Mark Tranter also chimes in on some of the printed pieces that is used on the set. We’ll have our review of the Ship in a Bottle (21313) up on February 1 so stay tuned for that.
