The Legacy of LEGO Ninjago

A few days ago, I did a post regarding the upcoming season of LEGO Ninjago: Secrets of the Forbiddedn Spinjitzu and it seemed to be pretty popular among you guys, especially on Twitter. LEGO has released a blog post on the LEGO Ambassador Network with an interview with Tommy Andreasen, Tommy Kalmar, and Michael Svane Knap talking about the legacy of LEGO Ninjago. The main subject matter is about the new Legacy sets and how they are designed to look like the things from the show as compared to the original ones from years past. As far as future LEGO Ninjago sets are concerned, they have this to say about it,

There are still mountains of LEGO NINJAGO stuff to do, and despite what Tommy A says, the team hasn’t run out of ideas.

“We hope to have more launches—we could do ideas from tv show which never made it into products… there’s so many things from the NINJAGO universe,” he adds.

“I have more locations on my list as well which could be interesting. There are still golden opportunities from the epic final battle to explore and beef up,” Michael hints and smiles.

New LEGO Technic Control+ Motor & Hub Images

LEGO Fan Media Days is going on right now in Billund and a number of RLFM are in attendance for some exclusive interviews and presentations. Unfortunately, I’m not able to make it but our colleagues at Brickset has posted some new images of the new LEGO Technic motors that will be used in future sets including an Off-Road Vehicle (42099) and the Liebherr R9800 (42100). Both sets will use the new Control+ alongside these new motors in which the Liebherr will use seven while the off-roader will have three. The hubs will also be equipped with Bluetooth functionality to control it through your smart devices.

Although I’m not a big Technic fan, I’m very interested to see how the motor and hubs will fit into the upcoming sets. It has been reported that the Liebherr R9800 was delayed until October.

Dinosaurs Fossils Skeletons to Become Next LEGO Ideas Set

LEGO has announced a short while ago that the Dinosaurs Fossils Skeletons – Natural History Collection will become the next LEGO Ideas set. The project was designed by Jonathan Brunn a. k.a. Mukkinn and the set is planned for a 2019 release. The details regarding the final design, pricing, and availability will be revealed later this year.

In addition to this announcement, LEGO also stated that the Playable LEGO Piano will need further review. Due to its complexity, LEGO will need addition time to take a look at it to see if is a viable set. The results will revealed in the next review update.
