The LEGO Movie 2 Estimated to Open Lower Than Expected

The LEGO Movie 2 has been promoted heavily the past few months and it opens this weekend but the estimated earnings may fall short of what Warner Bros. was expecting. Variety is reporting that TLM2 will debut with an estimated $31 million which will be the third worst out of the LEGO movies that have been released in theaters so far. Warner Bros. estimated that the movie will debut around $50 million this weekend but forecasts fell short with it only taking in $8.5 million on Friday.

One of the reasons why The LEGO Movie 2 opened lower than estimated is because of the crazy weather that the US is having right now. Some places are still raining and snowing and people would rather stay home than risk going out in that kind of weather.

Another reason could be that people maybe burned out of LEGO movies. This is the fourth movie in five years which included a break in 2018 but it’s still quite a few in a short amount of time.

I’ve heard mixed reviews of TLM2 but more positive than negatives. The most common one is that it’s a good movie but not at good as the first one which is typical for movies with sequels. I’ll be checking it out again tomorrow to see if there’s anything I missed the first time around.

There’s something interesting that has showed up on LEGO’s servers this morning. It is for the LEGO xtra theme and they are the LEGO Brick Stickers (853921). There are five sheets of random stickers that fit with a City layout along with 17 pieces for the signs and billboards to apply them to. Most fans detest stickers on sets but these LEGO Brick Stickers look pretty good and they do enhance the play experience. I assume they will be available in March at LEGO Stores and on Shop@Home.

The LEGO Movie 2 BrickHeadz Benny & Sweet Mayhem Target REDcard Exclusives Now Available

The LEGO Movie 2 BrickHeadz Benny (41636)

Some new The LEGO Movie 2 BrickHeadz sets are now available online at Target, more specifically, Benny (41636) and Sweet Mayhem (41637). Both of them are $9.99 and they are Target REDcard exclusives which means that you will need to have registered your REDcard to be able to purchase them. The product descriptions don’t list them as limited like with Emmet and Wyldstyle over at Walmart so there might be more than 5,000 of these in stock. Also them being Target REDcard exclusives will make the stock go slower as not everyone is signed up for the card. They have also limited the sets to two per person. Thanks to everyone who spammed me about it. I was at work, sorry.

Update: Both Benny and Sweet Mayhem are now out of stock online. I’m not sure how many were originally available but it seemed that there were less than 5,000 of each. I don’t know if Target will be restocking them online at a later date.

As for the LEGO 4+ Toy Story 4 sets, there are supposed to be six sets that will accompany the new movie coming out this summer.

The LEGO Movie 2 Certified Fresh

The LEGO Movie 2 Certified Fresh

Rotten Tomatoes has announced that The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part has been Certified Fresh on their Tomatometer. With a current rating of 83%, it ranks third of all the LEGO movies that have been released so far trailing The LEGO Movie (95%) and The LEGO Batman Movie (90%). Among the critics, there were 102 that gave it a Fresh rating while 21 gave it a Rotten rating. Most people don’t care about critic reviews as they would rather experience the movie themselves and make their decisions after. How many of you are going to see it this weekend and how many are seeing it for a second time after the early screening last week?

The LEGO Movie 2 BrickHeadz Out of Stock Online

A few days ago, I reported that a couple of The LEGO Movie 2 BrickHeadz sets were available for purchase online at Walmart. These two limited edition BrickHeadz include Emmet (41634) and Wyldstyle (41635) and it was stated that they were limited to 5,000. As of this post, they are both out of stock online but I’ve seen some stock flicker in and out for them earlier today. I’ve heard stores will not be getting them as these are online exclusive but who knows if some of them will suddenly show up on the shelves.

At this point, I’m not sure if Walmart will restock or not. I suggest signing up for their in-stock alert in case they do come back. I also do not know if it will be available on LEGO Shop@Home in the near future as all 5,000 of each BrickHeadz could be allocated to Walmart. Now that people know that these sets are limited, they are pretty much taking advantage of that knowledge on the secondary market. I’m still waiting to see when Sweet Mayhem (41637) will show up at Target. The retailer for Benny (41636) is still unknown at this time.
