Last year, LEGO announced the release of the LEGO Wizarding World Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle (71043) that contains 6,020 pieces and retailing for $399.99. It look me a while but I’ve finally finished building and taking pictures for this review. The contents of the massive box include 37 numbered bags, four sticker sheets, and four instruction booklets.
LEGO has started a new promotion on Shop@Home for some cool The LEGO Movie 2 Trading Cards. From now until February 24, you can receive one pack of The LEGO Movie 2 trading cards (5005775) with purchase of $15 or three packs with a purchase of $40. VIP members will also receive a FREE The LEGO Movie 2 Awesome Collector Album (5005777) and a special foil trading card with purchase of $15.
There are 36 cards to collect and there will also be a couple of trading card swap days on February 3 & 18 at LEGO Stores. There are four cards per pack.
The LEGO Movie 2 Welcome to Apocalypseburg! (70840) is now available for VIPs on LEGO Shop@Home. The set has 3,178 pieces and retails for $299.99 and it includes 12 minifigures. The site is wonky and doesn’t let you add to cart directly. You’ll have to add it to your wish list then move it to your bag from there.
In addition, there’s a new promotion that has started with The LEGO Movie 2 trading cards. From January 16–February 24, you can receive one pack of The LEGO Movie 2 trading cards with purchase of $15 or three packs with a purchase of $40. VIPs will also receive a FREE The LEGO Movie 2 Awesome Collector Album and a special foil trading card with purchase of $15.

If you’re in the Hollywood area at the end of January/early February, LEGO is throwing together something to promote The LEGO Movie 2. They are offering FREE tickets to a 6,000 square foot interactive exhibition for those who are interested. There will be various activities and themed photo ops for the kids. The dates and times are listed below.

The teaser trailers for Spider-Man: Far From Home dropped a short time ago and we got to see some very interesting things, more importantly, the characters. Some of the new villains include Sandman, Molten Man, and Hydro-Man. Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio is also in the movie but it’s hard to tell if he’s a villain or a faux hero at this time. We also got to see Stealth Suit Spider-Man as well as Nick Fury.
As far as the LEGO sets are concerned, there are three rumored sets that will be coming out this summer and they are:
Molten Man’s Battle (76128)
Hydro-Man’s Attack (76129)
Stark’s Plane and Drone Attack (76130)
I’m not sure if those are the real names of the sets or just loose translations from a foreign retailer.
The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023) will be released in a few weeks or earlier depending on if the retailer decides to put them out ahead of time. I’ve been asked many times so far of the box distribution of the minifigures and it has been confirmed by Promobricks that there will be three complete sets in a box.
What’s even more interesting is that each row of 20 is a complete set of minifigures. If that’s the case, there’s not much randomness to them and a brand new box will guarantee you a set without even feeling for them. I’m not sure if LEGO will change that later on but I doubt that it will at this point. If you do find a box in the wild, let us know if that’s the case.
