LEGO 2017 Holiday Shopping Recommendations

There is only a few short weeks left in the holiday shopping season and now is the perfect time to release my 2017 LEGO recommendations. These sets were all released this year and they are separated into various price groups so you can see what I would suggest as a last minute gift at a certain price.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Mighty Micros: Iron Man vs. Thanos (76072) – $9.99

This is a great way to get a Thanos in a minifigure version especially with Avengers: Infinity War coming soon. There’s no guarantee that the upcoming Thanos will be a minifigure. Read my review of the set here.

LEGO Star Wars Bounty Hunter Speeder Bike Battle Pack (75167) – $14.99

Fans have been waiting for an easy way to get some of the Star Wars bounty hunters like Dengar, Bossk, 4-LOM, and IG-88 and this is the perfect way to get them.

2017 LEGO Brand Retail Manager’s Conference Exclusive Minifigure Revealed

Every year at the LEGO Brand Retail Manager’s Conference, managers who attend get a very exclusive minifigure and it looks like the 2017 on at Atlanta has been revealed. As you can see above, the minifigure is dressed up in a magician’s outfit over the yellow LEGO Store apron. The description says that the quantity produced might be under 60. This set has popped up on eBay even though the cardboard in the clamshell says “Not for Resale.” If you have a cool $5,500 laying around, this exclusive minifigure can be yours. If you didn’t see it yet, the seller also has the 2015 Zombie and 2016 Zack available as well.

Continuing with Day 3 of the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253), we finally get something that’s more synonymous with Christmas. Today we get a build for a reindeer and it looks very good given the parts that we have in this set. The 1×4 arch pieces are used for the body while some hinges along with clips and tooth pieces for the antlers. The nose is black but I took the liberty to change out the black stud to a red one to represent our favorite reindeer.

As a yearly tradition in Asian countries, LEGO releases a set to celebrate the Lunar New Year or Chinese New Year. On February 16, the calendar rolls over to the new year and it’ll be the Year of the Dog in which there will be a set (40235) based on it.

As someone who was born on the Year of the Dog on the Chinese zodiac, I’ll definitely be wanting to pick up this set. If anyone wants to help me out in getting this set, let me know.

For Day 2 of the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Build Up (40253), we have a very interesting build that some may like and some may disagree with. Here we have sort of a mixture of animals that are incorporated into this one including a duck, parrot, and peacock.

The parts usage is good to an extent with a lot of color variety put into it. The tail is probably the holiday part of the build as it looks similar to a wreath.
