LEGO Objects to Toys R Us Liquidation Sales

Toys R Us’ bankruptcy court hearing was yesterday and they’ve announced that the going out of business sales will being Thursday for the rest of the stores with it running until June or earlier if inventories sell out quicker. Toys R Us says they are working to make the maximum payments they can to the vendors as well as the banks as they are starting to close down more than 700 stores. They are also wanting to stop more than $450 million in payments to suppliers which is a move that will hurt smaller toy companies on their books.

According to a report by Reuters, there are more than 50 vendors, including LEGO, that have objected to the liquidation. Obviously LEGO would like to have their products back instead of having it sold at lower prices in order to make payments to the banks. This corresponds to the memo that I reported on seeing the other day that lists LEGO on the “Do Not Liquidate” list but there are also reports that some stores have listed LEGO sets at 10% off which are probably the older ones.

The LEGO Batman Movie Minifigure Vignette Building Contest Winners

The LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures Series 2 (71020)

Last month, I ran The LEGO Batman Movie Minifigure Vignette Building Contest and it’s now time to announce the winners of the contest. I’m sorry about the lateness of choosing the winners but I’ve been dealing with other things the past few weeks. I was pretty lenient on how the builds were judged and there were some really creative ones. Since LEGO accidentally sent me another box of minifigures, I’ll also be choosing a few runner up winners, in no particular order. I’ll be contacting the winners to get their shipping details and whatnot through the platform used.

LEGO Star Wars: The Last Jedi in 2 Minutes

LEGO Star Wars Snoke's Throne Room (75216)

Today in anticipation of Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi coming to home media next week, LEGO and Star Wars has released a new video called LEGO Star Wars: The Last Jedi in 2 Minutes which is basically an abridged version of the movie. In the middle of the video, we get to the scene in Snoke’s throne room and we may have gotten a sneak peek at the rumored set coming later this year tentatively called the same thing or The Throne Room Duel (75216). The set may not look exactly the same way but it’s assumed that it’ll look somewhat similar. For the play features of the set, it is said that it has a revolving elevator and another feature that drags Rey to the throne and the minifigures will include Snoke, Rey, Kylo Ren, and a couple of Praetorian Guards. Check out the video below.
